Mariner Realty is proud to be a family owned and operated, full service real estate Company, with a 30 year tradition. North Carolina is home to a village called Oriental, known by sailors as the halfway point between New York and Florida when traveling along the Intracoastal Waterway.
Oriental is home to regattas, sailing clubs, fishing, and more events than seem possible in a small town. With just 875 residents and over 2,700 boats, it's obvious how Oriental earned its title of "The Sailing Capital of North Carolina." Homes here are set amid The Pamlico Sound, The Neuse and Bay Rivers along with their many deep water creeks and pristine tributaries.

Pamlico County was named for Pamlico Sound, which in turn was named for an Indian tribe that once inhabited the northern fringes of the county. Perhaps four to five hundred Indians occupied the area during the time of exploration and early settlement. Belonging mainly to the Algonquians, the tribes were the Pamlico, Neuse, Bay River, Coree and possibly the Secotan, Pamouick, Tuscarora and Woccon.
Oriental was settled in the 1870s by Louis B. Midyette. Legend has it that "Uncle Lou" was sailing from New Bern to his home in Dare County and anchored his sailboat in the protected waters of Oriental to escape a gale. Storytellers claim that Lou went ashore the next morning, climbed a tree and was captured by the beautiful landscape and waterfront created by the many creeks.

Nancy has done a great job from the beginning. We are from out of state and she lined up multiple homes for us to look at when we came to NC and she took her time to show us all around the area. Nancy helped us find our dream house, and with us being from PA, she has gone above and beyond helping us every step of the way right until closing. It's truly been a great experience working with Nancy!
Thank you Nancy!

We recently bought a house and the seller was using them as an agent. When we had the house inspection there was multiple small issues that we simple fixes but had only asked for 3 of them to be addressed. Biggest being the air handler/electric had terrible corrosion on outside of the unit and was very dirty. They used a hvac person who has been doing his own business unliscescned to inspect the unit. And put HVAC duct tape on multiple spots to try to fix the pan drain. . He said it was in working condition just a lot of corrosion. As a person who works in the HVAC plumbing business for 12years
