Services
PPI Engineering provides erosion control services in the form of Erosion Control Plans (ECPs) as well as consulting services. Erosion control systems can include components such as diversion ditches, grassed waterways, hillside benches, drop inlets, water conveyance pipelines and level spreaders.
PPI also includes proper selection and maintenance of cover crops with consideration given to soil type and erodibility, climatic conditions, desired management strategy, and compatibility with the primary crop.

PPI Engineering provides design-to-construction services for all our vineyard projects, which includes managing the projects throughout the permitting phase. PPI has extensive experience in both Napa and Sonoma Counties with their respective requirements and maintains a good working relationship with the staff members that are involved with reviewing the projects.
PPI Engineering provides engineering services including hydrologic modeling in support of vineyard applications, hydraulic calculations to size pipelines and other infrastructure, and grading plans. Although PPI's focus is vineyards, we offer other services in support of vineyards including the design and plans for agricultural roads and driveways, grading associated with extensive vineyard development, and reservoirs.
PPI Engineering provides a variety of mapping services including those utilized by vineyard staff in support of permits and applications, and those used for marketing purposes. GPS and GIS data are collected and analyzed in-house as well as obtained from available sources. PPI efficiently produces maps that are both informative and visually pleasing, utilizing a variety of software including AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
PPI Engineering provides services for all stages of vineyard layout including planning, design and grid staking. We work closely with vineyard management and field crews to ensure vine row locations and orientation are installed exactly as intended. Vineyard layouts take into account multiple factors, some of which include solar aspect, farming practices and functionality, and maximizing vine density.
