Dahn & Woodhouse Funeral Home
Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Homes began in Scranton, Iowa in the early 1930's. The funeral home in Scranton was started by the Huffman family. The Huffmans soon opened funeral homes in Lake City, Glidden, and Carroll. In 1962 Robert D. Woodhouse and Merle Dahn purchased the funeral homes from the Huffmans however the Huffman family retained the Lake City location.

Merle and Dorothy Dahn were in partnership with the Woodhouses until 1971 when they moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Jay R. Woodhouse began to work with his father in the business his sophomore year in high school. He then graduated from the University of Nebraska and the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and returned home to work in the family business.

Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.
