Dr. Maryam Meschi is an incredible specialist in pediatric dentistry. From a young age, she planned to enter a profession where she could help and work with children. Her goals have always included making sure her patients have a superior experience at their dental visit and giving each patient the utmost in care and comfort.
Dr. Judy Gillard is a true California native: born and raised in California. From the very beginning, Dr. Judy knew she was destined to be working with children. Dr. Judy has always enjoyed being around children and has the patience and outstanding skills to create the most comfortable and enjoyable dental experience for all her patients.
The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) was founded in 1929. It is the oldest and most prestigious specialty board in dentistry. The ABO's aim is to elevate the standards of the practice of orthodontia, to familiarize the public with its aim and ideals, and to protect the public against irresponsible and unqualified practitioners.
The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) was organized by the American Society of Dentistry for Children in 1940. It is the only ADA-recognized certifying board for the specialty of pediatric dentistry. Yes a same day appointment to remove the wire installed cutting hole in my daughters cheek. Rather than just say you're sorry, you constantly blamed. the customer. We waited 90 minutes in a parking lot at 6:30 at night. No apologies just excuses.
Poorly run business. I'm sure you are a great Dr. But you are a horrible business owner.

After 3 years of searching for a great dentist I think we finally found Home! My 10 year old has had horrible experiences with dentist, unfortunately added to his phobia of dentist, but that's in the past.
We had our first appointment today and the staff was cheerful and the energy just felt beautiful. I filled out the paperwork outside and waited for 10min. Our temps were checked and I as the parent was asked if I wanted to come in. Being his first appointment I accepted.
Once inside the staff was AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!! They spoke to my son with respect and communicated everything

What an AMAZING first visit. Took my 2 & 3 year olds to the dentist today and they had a blast!!! They keep asking if they're good, can they come back. How's that for a rave review??
The staff are so friendly and really pay attention to your children. No pain. Very efficient. They play a movie during the cleaning so your little one is occupied. Everything was sanitized, huge office. With all the balloons and toys, they cannot wait for their next check up.

Fortunately, our child's new dentist continues to believe that surgery is not necessary. This saved our child from the unnecessary pain of Newport Orthodontics' proposed surgery.
Currently, progress remains good and consistent. Again, parents should always get a second and third opinion regarding any surgery.
Regarding this negative review and responses by parents in NB, I posted this because parents need to be reminded of our choices. Our options!
I frequently use Yelp and believe it is helpful. Some parents at our child's school disagree with my review

Both my children have received care for pediatric dentistry and orthodontics at the office of Newport Orthodontics & Children's Dentistry for over 10 years. I initially tried a few other offices but as a Mom who wants the best for her family, I am sooo glad I discovered this place. Their services & care are phenomenal. I myself have started receiving orthodontic treatment under the care of Dr. Kermani. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for an incredibly knowledgeable, caring, attentive, and professional office. I have seen & experienced both the doctors and staff

My son and I had a very pleasant visit to Newport Orthodontics’s and Children’s Dentistry. We have visited this office twice and both experiences were delightful. The staff is very welcoming and the doctors made us feel at ease. Everyone in the office was extremely patient and worked very well with my son who is only 2 1/2 years old.

My daughter had to have some cavities filled and I was concerned about how she would respond to this due to her age. Our experience was excellent- the dentists and assistants were all so nice and my daughter actually enjoyed it (?)!! She loved being able to watch tv during the procedure, the child-specific dental tools and, of course....the treasure box at the end. Great place for kids and easy for us parents!

The owner responded by saying our account was "completely inaccurate".
Is that why they called us in to apologize and give 101 silly reason for their diagnosis. They craziest one were:
"oh, there may have been some bits on the tooth and that is why we mistook it for cavity!"
Really? After cleaning the tooth you left some bits? It was too hard to blow some water to see if it is a bit or not? Stop the BS please.

"oh, we are cautious, we said his teeth needs drilling but we would not have really done it when it came down to it because we would have re-evaluated

So far, not impressed. Our consult was for 3:30. We got here at 3:25 and sat in the waiting room with no one behind the desk to check us in or give us new patient paperwork to start on. At 3:45, we were given the paperwork , and the woman at the desk disappeared again. They are now 25 minutes late for our consult. I've met no one. And when I asked "excuse me, how far behind are you running?" The response was "I don't know, mom." And then back to ignoring us.

We tried theee dentists before and finally we found Dr. Judy. My daughter is no longer afraid of dentists, thanks to the amazing care of doctors and staff!!! My daughter is now in braces and I can't say enough on how loving and gentle Dr. Kermani is to the point that my daughter looks forward to her visits.
The office is clean, modern and well laid out. I've been around and by far this is best children's practice for dental and braces. I highly recommend Newport Orthodontics & Children's Dentistry!

Dr. Kermani and staff are amazing! Always caring, professional and great bedside manner. The children get stickers, balloons, toothbrush kits and toys, seriously? I felt like we were in Disneyland! Dr. Judy Gillard is an incredible doctor. Practice is not hers so this review is in no way to reflect on her.
The office is ran by Johanna, who when on emergency call after office hours, tells you you are rude and interrupt her choir practice, when you call to ask about your child's well-being as problem arises which Dr told us to be on the look out for and call asap. Johanna has told me I as a parent have to make a decision if something is an emergency, when I have no medical knowledge in children's dentistry. When I mentioned that staff is very poorly trained, and yes they put my kids

We were originally with a family dentist, but when my daughter got a cavity he told us to go to a children's dentist so she wouldn't hate him. Well, she loved this dentist so much we couldn't go back to the family dentist at all. The office is very clean and well laid out. The staff are all very nice and talk to the kids, even mine who isn't a talker- they talk to her until she does!
I actually think they are too nice to one of the other moms who left the premises to run an errand and got back late. Maybe it's just because I couldn't leave my kid getting tons

I am 27 years old, and am nearly done with my Invisalign treatment with Dr. Kermani. I don't have a single bad thing to say about Newport Orthodontics. I am probably what any orthodontist would call a "high maintenance patient." I came into N.O. with a very tight schedule (I am moving out of the country soon), and Dr. Kermani made it happen. I also had to change appointments with little notice a few times, and the office staff was very understanding and accommodating. I've been to many dentists and orthodontists who make patients feel like an inconvenience - not here!!

I had a bad experience with Dr. Kermani. She made me wait nearly an hour, with an appointment to which I was on time, while she took several other patients ahead of me who had appointments later than mine and made me feel as though she was doing me a favor by seeing me.
There are so many better choices in Newport Beach!

We absolutely love Dr. Kermani! My son just got his braces off after having them on for a little over a year. His teeth are perfect! Her bedside manner is the absolute best as is the rest of her staff. Her office is comfortable, super clean and decorated darling.
My son has had the best experience visiting the dentist. He actually looks forward to going! Highly recommended! (In fact he is the one who suggested I give them this review, as he is such a fan.)
