Sandy is usually the first friendly face you will see upon arrival to our office. She is most likely the voice on the other end when you call. Sandy is energetic and eager to assist you with appointment needs and general information. She most enjoys spending time with her 7 very active grandchildren (3 of which are Dr Southern's children).
Dr. Cynthia M. Southern has been involved in dentistry most of her life. Our dental practice was opened by her father, Dr. Donald Martin, in 1975. Dr. Southern graduated from The College of William and Mary and the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, she has actively practiced dentistry for over twenty years.
Before: Patient unhappy with six Upper Anterior teeth. The edges are uneven, the gumline is uneven on the two central incisors, and the color/shade is not uniform. The two lateral incisor teeth have been previously restored and are poorly shaped. After: Smile restored with 6 Upper Anterior Crowns that are properly shaped, gumline is uniform, and color/shade is the same for all 6 incisor teeth.
Before: 3 Unit bridge with chipped porcelain molar (supporting metal showing on molar tooth), poor enamel color match to patient's natural teeth, and poor fit around the patient's gumline. After: Replaced Bridge with an All Porcelain Bridge. The new bridge now also matches the patient's natural tooth color and was designed to properly fit around the gumline.

Tried to get appointment here. Was talked down to on the phone made to feel ridiculous and embarrassed about my anxiety of going to a dentist. Was told "all we do is give nitrous oxide, if that's not good enough there's nothing else we can do. You need to go somewhere else." And so I will. Was also told I wouldn't be seen anyway unless I became an existing patient and agreed to have my teeth cleaned there atleast twice a year. Thier website stating the ease and friendliness needs to be removed.

Great dentist! After a very negative experience in South Carolina with a dentist who gave me an ugly crown in just 75 days for a cost to me of $2,510.05, Dr. Southern completed a beautiful crown for me in 2 hours for a fraction of the cost.
She is a gem and has a staff to match. It is always a pleasure to visit her office.

Loved the Dentist! She was a miracle worker and gentle...until her Secretary couldn't do her job correctly and 1) gave me the wrong time to show up for and 2) lied to the dentist saying that I got rude with her. How you can yell while chocking back tears--I'll never know. I was upset because during a procedure the dentist hit a tooth and half broke off that night,and I was going in for a repair. I wasn't allowed to return. That was no problem, as I WAS grateful for what she'd done...until a root canal crown and stem cell out a few weeks later! ALL the work she did has failed--broke or fell out
