No, acupuncture does not hurt. For some people, needle insertion may feel like a tiny pinch while others may feel nothing at all. Unlike hypodermic needles such as those used for drawing blood or administering medications, acupuncture needles are as thin as a human hair. All needles are one time use, in sterile packaging opened at the start of your treatment, and disposed of immediately after in a sharps container for incineration.
