My name is Kate. I'm a certified antenatal, birth, and postpartum doula. I am a wife and a loving mother to my two beautiful babies, Ivy and Nash. I love music, reading and have an undying need for wanderlust. You can often find me in my local coffee shop (Shoutout - Sullivan Brothers Coffee Company) reading about placentas and breastmilk.
Home Birth is NOW AVAILABLE through WWHC. Contact us at any point in your pregnancy if you feel that home birth is something that interests you. You might be a good candidate for a home birth if you are considered "low-risk". If you aren't sure if you would be a good candidate, don't worry! We offer free phone consultations to discuss your options.
I'm Gail Rock, and I am a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM)/Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in the greater Morgantown area. I'm so excited to be getting back to my home birth roots after working full-time as a hospital based midwife for the past MANY years. My training began at Shenandoah University where I graduated with a masters degree in nursing with a specialty in midwifery in the year 2000.
During this pandemic, it might be possible for you to call your insurance carrier and apply for a "gap exception" for home birth to be considered an in-network expense. We can bill your insurance out-of-network, but we have no control over what your insurance will cover if you choose to do so. This includes all prenatal visits, Labor & Delivery, two postpartum home visits for you and baby, and any lactation assistance you may need.
I utilize LabCorp for all processing of labs, but I come to your home and draw the labs myself. I then get the labs to LabCorp and they process them and notify me of the results. You can use your insurance for labs if you like, however I do have discounted pricing for cash-pay patients. At this time WWHC is not accepting any in-netowrk options for insurance payments.
