On behalf of the Greenisen family, we would like to welcome you to our funeral home. We were established in 1901 and the oldest family owned funeral home in Salem. We have provided our families for generations the CARE, COMPASSION and COMMITMENT that is expected at a very emotional time in their life.

We have been here to treat our families with the respect and dignity that they deserve. We believe that funerals, memorial services and celebrations are important to the family as well as the community. It allows all the friends, relatives and family to come together and come to terms with the loss of a loved one.
Services
W. S. Arbaugh founded the Arbaugh Funeral Home in 1901. Mr. Arbaugh also operated the W. S. Arbaugh Furniture Store on the North East corner of E. State Street and N. Lincoln in Downtown Salem. In 1920, Elmer Hendricks, of the Hendricks Funeral Service in Greenford, Ohio came to Salem and operated his funeral home out of Arbaugh's building.
At Arbaugh Pearce Greenisen Funeral Home, we take great pride in caring for our families, and will work tirelessly to provide you with a beautiful, lasting tribute to your loved one. In addition to the services we offer, you will receive an online memorial that you can share with family and friends.
When planning a service, you have many options available to you and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. No matter your choice, we can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort and love. And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one.
We are located in one of Salem's old victorian style homes. It was built in 1899 by the Boone family and was acquired in 1930 as the final location of the funeral home. The charm of the vistorian home has been preserved in many parts of our home. Our home allows our families to feel relaxed and able to have a peaceful closure.
Doug grew up in Salem, graduated in 1990 from Salem High School. One of his first jobs was as a delivery person for Josie's Pizza in high school. He took machine trade classes while in high school that later made it possible to work in various. The details of what the family will be doing is still pending, hold this family up in your prayers.

My father passed away on Jan 2, 2019. I went to Ohio from Florida to take care of the details. I am very disappointed in how this funeral home handles things for families. My dad was to be cremated and the remains I was assured that my family in Ohio could pick up some and the rest would be mailed to me, I was told several times that mailing them would not be a problem. I have called and called and left several messages, at first i was getting return calls saying that there was an issue with mailing them, then i was told it was expensive. Well for one if it was expensive I should have been told

I am so saddened that I have been lied to by the funeral home director right to my face of a simple request. I asked him before I left NC how much would it cost to have two laminated obituaries made, he said that there would be NO cost to me. Well I made it up to Ohio the following week and still no progress of the laminates. So I wrote down my address and handed it to him directly he said that he would mail them to me, still a month later NO laminates. So I also have called the funeral home 4 times, NO return call to me from the funeral home at all. It's a shame that the director lied to me and
