Stern and Bow, is a place where the theater is as exciting as the food - the type of theater involving watching chefs in action, in a beautiful but relaxed setting. The restaurant includes three separate bars - a premium raw bar, wood-fired pizza bar and full service liquor bar - each with its own experience.

We've recreated flavorful regional dishes from around the country, using authentic, seasonal ingredients and expert execution. Our menus feature everything from custom blend burgers, dry-aged steaks and seafood specialties, to housemade pastas, wood-fired pizzas and decadent desserts.

Pluses: attractive and calming ambiance, attentive service, varied menu, good wine list, and generally well balanced dishes! Decaf coffee and tea options always nice to see.
Minus: seriously, $55 for a lobster pasta entree that had more garlic than lobster? Four huge cloves of garlic (and more crushed!) is waging nuclear war on the poor lobster, it's a delicate seafood and needs to be respected. 🤢 Huge miss.

Just finished celebrating New Year. My husband had a dozen oysters and a dozen clams for an app and half a fried chicken with a dipping sauce, collards and a fried biscuit. I had fried calamari for am app and the BBQ shrimp. The Albarino went perfect with the meal. Don't hesitate to get the bread pudding for desert. Most important the staff is excellent 👍

We had a very pleasant dinning experience.
The Stern and Bow offers an upscale, yet casual environment with a menu to match.
If you in the mood for a designer pizza, they have it, or perhaps you in the mood for Imperial Caviar, they have that too. That's right, they also have a raw bar.
We had Thanksgiving dinner there and we were pleased.
I would recommend you try them out, I think you'll like it.

Nice ambiance, but the food was underwhelming. The lobster roll was disappointing. It was barely warm and the meat was kind of tough. The brownie dessert was a bit hard. I did enjoy the calamari appetizer, but wouldn’t get those dishes if I went back again.

Food was outstanding! Wild boar ragu was a hit with my teenager. So many cocktails but loves the coconut mojitos.

From the moment we stepped in the hospitality was top notch. Professional, personable, and the service was on point. Crab cakes, fried calamari, oysters, steak and fries, ribs, desserts and drinks were great. Went in with zero expectations and was overwhelmingly surprised by this hidden Bergen county gem. The owner and chef greeted and treated us like royalty. I work in NYC hospitality industry and never come across something as special as this. So far this restaurant made it to the top of my go to night out list. Highly recommend!

The best in Gastronomy/Customer Service/Prices/Atmosphere/bar selection. I was truly impressed with this place. I dine out every weekend and have been in many place yet Stern & Bow Restaurant are on my favor list. Went there for the first time this past weekend. From the minute we walked in customer service was EXCELLENT. The seafood bar difficult to find any where else. Cocktail selection incredible and the menu was amazing . THANK YOU JOHN for bringing such a diverse wonderful place for dining to our neighborhood.

Dining experiences are very important. I was a first time visitor to S&B and will be back. The atmosphere is subtle but classy chic. Michael our server was amazing. He didn't skip a beat even after he was triple sat. I didn't feel rushed and nothing was skipped over. From the bread basket to appetizers then dinner and dessert, everything was delicious. I had the calamari and smoke bacon wrapped chicken wings. Then for dinner the halibut special. And for dessert the blood orange fruit cup. (Would recommend a Chantilly cream top off). My only issue was parking. One entrance was blocked by a cone

Oyster lovers' delight!
We went to Stern & Bow for a Sunday lunch. They have a huge parking lot, including valet parking. We got seats right away, as we arrived before the rush hour. They have all precautions implemented for covid, including having plastic separators between tables that are next to each other.
I was very impressed with beautiful, brightly furnished interiors, some tables are right next the charcoal oven, and you can smell the aroma of baking when pizza/oyster being cooked.
We tried the charcoal baked oyster (baked with mozzarella, sprinkled bacon), grilled octopus, lobster roll

Disappointed overall. This place has been over hyped in my opinion. The cocktails are great. Pizza is great, very thin crust. Entrees very pedestrian. My fried chicken was dry and lacked flavor.
The oyster offerings are probably the best in the Tri State area. I will absolutely be back to try the oysters but the rest of my party was uninterested in the oysters. Prices are medium-high.
The decor inside the restaurant is unique and pleasant. They had a tent for outdoor seating and a fire pit in the tent but we were able to eat inside. Valet parking only.
Overall, I would recommend this spot for
