Let's be honest - it's hard to find a good massage therapist. There are so many who suck - they don't know what they are doing, they don't spend extra time on requested areas of focus, they talk too much, they don't use the right amount of pressure - even when you ask them to change, and sometimes, sometimes, their mother really does dress them funny.
What makes me a rockstar is how well I listen to you. You tell me what you want to do with the time we have, that's what happens. There is no standard massage with me, even if it's our second, third, or twentieth session. My practice is mobile, because it's easiest to relax in your own space. After the massage, you can then chill on the couch, take a bath or just go to bed right afterwards.

Services
Since I've been a massage therapist for over a dozen years now, I have developed my own style of massage, which is an amalgam of what I've learned from massage school through every CEU class I've taken. Mostly, it's a blend of Swedish, deep tissue and lomi lomi (Hawaiian temple style). It's a comprehensive blend that flows easily, resulting in extreme relaxation, aka feeling like one is in that blissful twilight state between awake and asleep.
This answer is personal. The standard answer is that an average healthy person should have a massage every 4-6 weeks, massage is like an oil change for your body. That's fine. But most people aren't average. Dealing with an acute issue like coming back from traveling for two days is different than the daily stress from a desk job + 50 mile commute.
To enhance your massage experience, and because I like things that smell good, I offer free aromatherapy during your massage with doTERRA essential oils. If you are scent sensitive, no worries, it's also entirely optional. I have a case of twelve oils that I carry with me (that I sometimes stuff an extra 4-5 bottles into).
Reiki is a clothing-on, light touch (or no touch) energywork that was created in Japan in the 1920s. It's about healing the source of whatever the core issue may be, whether you're dealing with the flu, or a heartache, or a crisis of faith, or just stress from work. While the practitioner traditionally moves around the front and back of the body, the energy moves straight to wherever the issue is manifesting in the body.
I became a massage therapist because I love giving a great massage. It's highly satisfying to restore someone's range of motion, to work out the knots in their shoulders, to get rid of the tension that's been causing their headaches. I do not have a standard cookie-cutter massage that everyone gets.

I get extremely bad stress knots, mainly clustered around my upper back and shoulders. I was really nervous to go into a regular spa during COVID so I started to look for an at home option where I could ensure fresh air and sanitization.
I’ve never had an at home massage before and, after Melissa, I’ll never have anything else! My massage was completely customized to me, with extremely deep pressure and focus on my back.
When you’re done it’s so nice to just roll into the shower instead of having to put clothes back onto all the massage oils.
Highly recommend both Melissa and the at

Googled. Booked on Schudulocity as requested, appointment confirmed. Within 30 min received an email that my appointment was canceled. Note: if you cancel with less than 4 hrs notice, you are charged. Then Melissa texts me saying "If you booked under James Dean that is creepy af." Wow, I can't control my name any more than I can my race, but now I'm creepy af! She might have at least called and asked for some type of proof of ID for safety etc... She adds that she's not going to hotels during this pandemic. Her site says she charges $50 extra as hotel fee, no mention of NOT going to hotels. The

Hands down one of the best massage therapist. She comes to your home. Is punctual, professional and very clean.
Pet friendly and is great at providing therapeutic to relaxing professional massage. A MUST if you have sore achy muscles or if you want to pamper yourself and the price is worth it.
She wears a mask during covid time and sanitizes. I have been seeing her off and on for years. You will not be disappointed.

I've now had several massages from Melissa and she is fantastic. On top of the convenience of the home visit, she is an extremely talented and professional masseuse. Her prices are reasonable, particularly for a home visit. I will be using her any time I need a massage in the DC area, and highly recommend others to give her service a try!

My massage with Melissa was wonderful...90 minutes has never passed so quickly I was so relaxed! :) She arrived promptly at my appointment time, setup her table where I requested and was very professional. I asked for medium pressure and feel she was pretty accurate. She was attentive during the massage and asked if I needed the fan turned down. Overall, I would use her again if and when I ever have an opportunity to have another in-home massage while my husband and kids are away.

Melissa arrived exactly on the dot and was flexible about my preference of where to set the massage table up. She had essential oils to compliment the massage oil and played relaxing music during my 60 minute session. She allowed me to do 50 minutes of deep tissue and 10 minutes of Reiki. Im interested in chakras, so we had a discussion about which of mine were blocked; it was interesting and fun. Her service is super convenient and professional!

Melissa was wonderful. After a hard week of moving out of my apartment, I was tired, achy, and full of knots. I was able to schedule with Melissa the same day. She arrived on time at my place. She set up quickly and quietly (I was on the floor and it was 9:00 in the evening). We spoke about my aches and problem areas, and what kind of massage/pressure I was desiring. Her work was thorough and discreet. I slept like a baby that night. I will definitely schedule with her again.

If you love massages and you love being at home, imagine an in home massage! Yes, Melissa comes to your door so that once she turns your body to a relaxed pile of mush, you can revel in this state from the comfort of your couch/ bed/ floor or whatever surface you find yourself on after experiencing an AMAZING massage.
This amazing service is perfect for families with young ones. It's hard to leave the house! Forget the babysitter, just call Melissa and she will bring the spa to you.

Melissa is awesome. My partner and I regularly book her for massages at our home.
She's attentive, professional, and super friendly. For those interested in more than one appointment, she's adapted well to our preferences and knows exactly what our problem areas are and what to focus on without much input.
I enjoy a fair amount of pressure in my massages, whereas my partner prefers things a little lighter. Melissa has never had an issue providing the pressure and focus that either she or I ask for.
Regardless of your massage needs, I can't imagine a better option than Melissa
