Chequers hairstylists are advanced in precision cutting and the newest hair styles whether fashion-forward or traditional. We perform all types of permanent waves (perms) and curl relaxing and Keratin smoothing using a variety of techniques and state-of-the-art products to achieve each individual clients' desired look.
With our manicure, a therapeutic hand and arm massage will undoubtedly leave you feeling ultra-pampered. Have your nails French polished or choose from the many OPI polish color choices for natural or vivid looks! Enjoy a pedicure while you relax with a complimentary cup of tea or a glass of wine. Aromatherapy and essential oils are used to massage and exfoliate your feet and legs into bliss!
Our professional cosmetologists provide relaxing, therapeutic, and corrective (acne and aging) facials using Sanitas skin care products. Based in Louisville, Sanitas is local to our area and provides the best skin care products for the Colorado climate. Each Sanitas product is tailored to different skin types and for different purposes, using clinically proven, all-natural ingredients.

I have been going to Chequers for over a year and have experienced nothing but an excellent cut and a wonderful experience. Joyce, the shop owner, cuts my hair. During my first visit, she listened and took notes as to the kind of hair style I wanted, and she gets it right every time. She is on schedule and courteous and friendly. We always have a good discussion about various topics. The small, boutique shop is clean, well lighted and easy to find. In my opinion, she works best with teens and up. not as well with kids. I highly recommend Chequers Hair Studio as a place to try. Michael

I've been coming to Chequers for over 10 years, and have seen both Joyce and Hao for services. My hair always looks great after I come in, and the color services (I get highlights) are fantastic. I've never had a problem booking appointments, and it's always relaxing to come in and catch up with the stylists here. I definitely recommend this studio.

I have been getting my hair cut by Joyce and Hao for the past 18+ years. While in Los Angeles recently I did go to a couple different places for cuts and they were not even close to what I consistently receive from Chequers. There is a reason I continually go back to see Joyce as she is the best in the business!

I've been coming to Chequers', getting my hair done by Joyce D., for 17 years. In 2001 I moved to Boulder Colorado from the Bay Area in California. Prior to working with Joyce D at Chequers, I had my hair colored, highlighted and cut at two different hair salons in Boulder and I wasn't pleased with my results, they didn't come close to the way my hair was previously done in California. Fortunately for me, Joyce D at Chequers is the real deal, my hair looks better than it did when I had it done in California and far less expensive than what I paid in California and in Boulder

Joyce is pretty much a SUPER HERO when it comes to hair. She saved my hair! I was in bad bad shape. She spent the time to consult about what my options were, did multiple test strips, and ended up SAVING my hair. I'm so glad I found this salon, everyone is super friendly and just flat out amazing. Unfortunately I have moved since I saw her originally, but I am more than happy to make the hour drive to see her for my next visit, because ITS WORTH IT. Good prices and they care about their clients. Try the tint for your eyebrows and lashes, I love it!

I moved to Lafayette three years ago and have been going to Joyce for a year now. I went through three salons before I discovered Chequers. I was almost in tears after I left...I was so happy! My hair was a mess, as far as I was concerned. Joyce listened and wrote things down so she wouldn't forget anything for the next time I came in. I had my hair colored and cut last week and love it. Period.

Joyce has been cutting and highlighting my hair for about 5 years now. I usually wait too long between appointments, so I typically feel horribly drab and dull when I walk in, but I always walk out looking fabulous! Joyce is so knowledgeable about all the latest tips and tricks for making everyone's hair look its best, too, so she always has great suggestions for any questions or concerns I have about keeping my hair looking great!

Joyce has colored and styled my hair for almost 20 years. She does a fantastic job with the color and has always cut my hair so that I do not have to fuss with it. I have followed her as she has opened her own business over the years and always enjoy going for my monthly appointment to chat and relax.
