Baskerville Funeral Home
For more than 95 years, all of our funeral homes have been committed to the time honored celebration of a person's life and all those who were touched by it. All of us at Reeves and Baskerville funeral homes, understand relationships and grief, and we possess the years of experience, skill, and knowledge to help you through the many areas of decision that occur at a time of loss.

We can also sensibly guide you at a time of advance planning. Since 2007, Reeves Funeral Homes, Ltd. has been a recipient of the National Funeral Directors Association Pursuit of Excellence Eagle Award. This is the highest commendation in funeral service and places us one of only five funeral homes in Illinois, and among the top two percent of funeral homes nationwide.
Services
In 1924 Wilfred and Anna Reeves established Reeves Funeral Home in the 500 Block of East Division Street in Coal City. At that time the facility was primarily used as an office, floral shop and seamstress shop due to the preparation and wakes being held within the homes.

In 1938 the new funeral home located at 75 North Broadway in Coal City was erected and it was at this time that visitations and services began to take place at the funeral home instead of the homes of the deceased.Wilfred and Anna's two sons, Charles and James took over the business in 1957 after the death of their father Wilfred, and their mother Anna then passed away in 1966.
Our entire funeral home family are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our entire staff of licensed funeral directors and family service associates.

Matt grew up in rural Wilmington and is a son of Violette (Hansen) Baskerville and the late Robert M. Baskerville, Jr. Matt graduated from Wilmington High School and attended Joliet Junior College, National Louis University in Evanston, Illinois and Northwestern University, as well as Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, Illinois.
The facility was completely renovated and offers a comfortable and spacious environment for visitations and services, as well as a family room for food, fellowship and childrens retreat. We have been overwhelmed with the support of the Gardner Community - and are proud to be a part of Gardner tradition for generations to come.
Baskerville Funeral Home in Wilmington, formerly Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville, Freitag Funeral Home, DesRochers Funeral Home and Addleman Funeral Home - continues to maintain the longest established history in funeral service throughout Wilmington, dating back to 1924.

The original funeral home located in the 200 block of South Main Street in downtown Wilmington was destroyed by fire in 1983 and reconstructed within the same year at the current address on Kahler Road. The facility, recently renovated and redecorated, offers accommodations all on one level with ample parking and handicap accessibility.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.

I cannot say enough good things about our family's recent experience with Baskerville Funeral Home. Matt, Alex and the entire staff were so helpful, patient, empathetic and caring that it really did make an extremely painful time a bit easier for all of us to bear. Absolutely everything was seamless about the process -- start to finish -- and there were several times when both my mother and myself (as well as two of my brothers) remarked how much easier things were made by having Baskerville in charge of arrangements. I wish I could give them a higher rating than five stars because they deserve

You will never find a better group of people anywhere else!!! They help you from begin to end and beyond. Matt is just one of the people that you will meet there. He is the owner, but he is the kindest, most caring, wonderful person. You will fall in love with him!!! After my experiences with him, I feel like he is one of my sons!!! I can't say enough good things about these people.
