At Pony Express Veterinary Clinic, we pride ourselves on providing high quality medical care for all of your animals while treating you, the owner, with the kindness and compassion that you deserve. We strive to treat your pets as we would our own with every attempt to make your visit enjoyable for both you and your pet.
A big focus of ours is on wellness, early diagnosis, and preventative care so your pet can live as long, as happy, and as healthy a life as possible. We make every effort to run only the diagnostics necessary to determine what is going on with your pet rather than running every test under the sun to rack up the bill.

Russ graduated from Kansas State University as a veterinarian in 1989. Dr. Breshears started in Onaga, Kansas as a mixed animal veterinarian for three years. He started working in Marysville in 1992 at Valley Vet Clinic as a mixed animal veterinarian. Russ and his wife Regina purchased the vet clinic in 1997 and renamed it "Pony Express Veterinary Clinic".
Our pets can't communicate to us when they don't feel well, so wellness exams are an important part in keeping your pet healthy! We use this opportunity to ask a detailed history and perform a physical examination from nose to tail. Information from wellness exams can help detect early signs of illness or disease so that treatment can begin before progression.
We offer application of vaccinations and processing services. We can offer you the peace of mind that the vaccines were stored under the right conditions and applied correctly, maximizing the likelihood of an immunologic response. You can rest assured that the processing services such as castration and dehorning are done correctly so you don't have problems with bleeding, failure of the bands, missed testicles, scur regrowth, etc.
The Good Samaritan Adoption Program was started as a way to find loving homes for the stray animals of Marysville as an alternative to euthanasia. The program was started by Dr. Regina Breshears in 1999 and has placed more than 1,200 dogs and cats in their forever homes. We do not euthanize no matter how long it takes to find a home.
