Services
Mama G's is a family owned restaurant that has been in business for over 30 years. Papa G and Mama G began their adventure in Stone Mountain, GA with their children, Michele and Paul. Eventually the Gaglio Family began to crave a new and more natural environment and moved to the North Georgia Mountains finding there home in Clayton.
Papa spent a lifetime devoted to his family and almost 25 years to this restaurant. He is one of two main reasons we have become what we are today (the other reason is, of course Mama G!). Papa had a wife he adored, two children he loved without compromise or boundaries, and three grandchildren he cherished.

Listen. If you don’t do anything else while you’re in the area, you need to eat here. This was not my first time coming here, and it will not be my last. We came with a large party, and were seated promptly. Our server, Ivan, was very friendly and attentive. Even though they were busy, our food came out so much faster than we were a anticipating. I got the chicken Marsala and it was incredible. Wonderful food, and wonderful service.

Five stars for the very nice staff and atmosphere, four and a half for the food. Friendly and very accommodating gets you five stars! Ruth at the bar was great, very busy with phone in orders and service bar and patrons seated at the bar, but handled it all with aplomb and a lovely smile. Only issue was my pasta was overcooked, which I happily overlooked.

Always seems to be very busy with a line out the door but really the food is mediocre at best and the pizza is terrible. Way to much dough and usually undercooked with way to much cheese. I would recommend going to a to place just up in the road called Bella's if you are looking for good Italian food.

This place is amazing!! My husband and I didn't feel like waiting and sat at the bar this time. I got a Greek salad and Chicken Parmesan. It was delicious. Of course the main reason I like coming is the garlic rolls!! I could just eat these as a meal. Haha! The drinks we got at the bar from Megan were great as well. Customer service is always wonderful. We will continue to come back when in the area!

Sysco specials, reheated. Perhaps our small group caught them on a bad evening. No need to retry. (went to Checkers across the street) Unpleasant service staff. They need some older folks to show them the ropes. So many easy improvements - it's easy to make marinara with taste, easy to say please, thank you, or even welcome. Totally ignored when we left - yet we still tipped. And we were nice!

Went in on 10/19 for dinner. We had a 20 minute wait which was fine but I immediately noticed on the floors, napkins, straw wrappers, and limes (multiple). Servers continually walked right by without even thinking about picking anything up. My wife had lasagna which was okay and I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and added meatballs. Meatballs had to have been nuked because they were hard and had no flavor. But the kicker was they didn't bother to drain the pasta which caused the meat sauce which was actually pretty good to quickly blend in with the watery pasta. I would NEVER eat here again

We had been told by family members that Mama G's was a good place to eat. And, we even tried to go with them once. Alas! It was closed.
Recently, though, The Granddaughters came up, and they wanted Italian. So, it was off to Mama G's for us.
The favorite item on the table with everyone but me (the gluten intolerant) was the bread. The Girls are ready to return just for that.
But I should mention that they also have some gluten free items, so no worries for those among us who suffer.
Service is efficient, with folks flying around to get it done.

Fantastic! Wow! Thanks for having us this afternoon for such a delicious lunch. The environment was incredible welcoming and family friendly, the food came out incredibly fast, the waiters and staff were top notch and it was a very enjoyable experience for my family and I.
The Cesar salad with shrimp is highly recommended; also don't miss out on those incredible Parmesan rolls! Holy-cow!!!
I'm visiting from NYC for the holidays and this was a highlight for sure! Definitely coming back!

My kids and I came up from Atlanta to take in the sights in HELEN and we stayed in Clayton to get away from the hustle. What a surprise that such a charming Italian restaurant is here in this little town! The dining room is beautiful, warm and clean. The staff is friendly and quick. We were there on a busy Saturday at peak time and the food was just a tiny bit slow. But the foot was AMAZING. We had Soeghetti w meatballs, Spinach Lasagna and a small pepperoni pizza and everyone thing was hot, fresh and tasty.

Mama Generics more like it. Nothing to write home about unless you are bragging about bland pasta and bread. It tastes like freezer food to me. At least we were seated quick and didnt have to wait long for our food but seriously Olive Garden is better. I'm not pumped about average food and this is painfully average. 3 stars because it wasnt gross, just not awesome.
