Impact Jiu Jitsu
We offer Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, Sports Performance and Group Fitness classes to adults and children of all ages and experience levels. Our members vary from sport hobbyists to competitive athletes. They hold titles from white belt to black belt; from MMA enthusiast to Heavyweight Champion; from get back in shape to pushing personal limits.

Our dedication to personal growth paired with our love of the sport and respect for one another is what sets us apart and allows us to meet the needs of such a wide array of members. We pride ourselves on making our training partners better every time they step on the mat. We know that the better they become, the better we will become and the better the academy becomes.
Services
The art of modern day Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was originally derived from the Japanese martial art of Kodokan Judo in the early 20th century, which was developed from a number of schools of Japanese Jujutsu in the 19th century by Kano Jigoro and one of his students Mitsuyo Maeda. In 1916, 14-year-old Carlos Gracie watched a demonstration by Mitsuyo Maeda (aka Count Coma) and was inspired to learn the art.
At our Beaverton and Clackamas academies, we are currently waiving all initiation fees ($99 savings) and have reduced the cancelation requirement on all annual autopay memberships to just 30-days to give our members even more flexibility. Students should select the location they plan to visit the most - all memberships include training at the Beaverton, Clackamas and Wilsonville academies.
If you or your child are new to Impact, your first visit at our Beaverton or Clackamas academies is free. After that, if you would like to try a few more classes to make sure Jiu Jitsu is the right fit, we offer a special 3-visit punch card for just $30. Please note this option is available to new students only.
We pride ourselves on making our training partners better every time they step on the mat. We know that the better they become, the better we will become and the better the academy becomes. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport, and a self-defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting.
The depth and scope of instruction at Impact Jiu Jitsu is remarkable. Many of our instructors have been studying and teaching at Impact Jiu Jitsu for well over a decade. They are true experts in their martial art. They are driven to share their knowledge and to help others become a part of this great community.

This is a good gym and very welcoming/beginner-friendly. I’d recommend it to anyone in the area who wants to train.

This is the place you want to train at. People take jiujitsu seriously here but still have tons of fun. Super clean place to train, with friendly staff. Deep knowledge of jiu-jitsu and mma at this gym. You know this is the place to be when your instructors never stop training.

I'm new to BJJ. Impact JJ was my first drop-in. I called ahead and spoke with Bliss. Phone calls are the initial outreach and Bliss was friendly and helpful (that's what I want to hear on the phone, so, well done).
I was greeted by friendly folks when I walked in the door one of whom was Bliss. Drop-in fees $ exchanged and waiver signed, Bliss gave me tour relevant tour of the facility (locker room and where my beginner class would be held).
---now I have to talk about hygiene awareness---
This Gym doesn't allow street shoes beyond a certain point and NO BARE FEET IN BATHROOMS or showers (slippers

My 5 year old has been going here and he absolutely LOVES IT. . the instructions he gets from Eric Loar and Dip Thapa is great! They are patient and treat the kids great and keep it fun for them while they learn. I'll definitely be keeping my son here and having his little brother join him when he is old enough.

Impact was my home gym for nearly 5 years, and it was not until I had to move that it became clear how outstanding the gym really is. Tracy and Michael Chapman have created a deep and diverse family of mixed martial artists and jiu jitsu players. The morning classes with Rodney were a comfortable and casual atmosphere for learning. Noon classes and Saturdays with Armand were technical mastery. Kickboxing with Nuro and Shawn provided a solid foundation in striking. I highly recommend the Impact gyms to beginners and the proficient alike.

I had the pleasure of training at Impact off and on for a couple of years around 2009-2011. Michael Chapman is an incredibly genuine and good instructor and has years of experience in numerous martial arts. The other instructors are also all top notch as well.
Most importantly, the vibe at Impact is both competitive but incredibly nice. Everyone there is always open for conversation and always seemed to have a smile on their face. It was a great place to train, and I can't wait to stop back in one day.

The coaching is very in-depth and practical. With a handful of black belts, Impact has a very, very high concentration of grappling knowledge. The atmosphere is my favorite, though. Very friendly and open to everyone. You don't have to be a superstar to spend time at the gym. The people are laid back and a lot of fun to be around. I've been training with Impact for a year and a half now, and I love it!
