People seek counseling for many different reasons: to work through a crisis, cope with life changes, heal from past trauma, work on relationships, pursue personal growth, and much more. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, or seeking emotional healing in some area of your life, I can help you!
Through counseling, I will give you the tools you need to reflect, heal, and grow. Anxiety and stress limit many people's ability to work, socialize, parent, and function in society. Creating and maintaining healthy relationships can be tough-it requires honest communication, vulnerability, and trust.

Services
My name is Dr. Julia Becker, and I am passionate about helping people find hope and healing through professional counseling. During our time together, I will help you identify obstacles you are facing, enable you to define your goals, and equip you to create a happier, more fulfilling life. I've worked in the Waco community since 2009.
Anxiety and stress limit many people's ability to work, socialize, parent, and function in society. I often experience physical symptoms of anxiety: muscle tension, chest pains, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, lightheadedness, hot or cold flashes, difficulty breathing, quickened heartbeat, trembling or shaking, difficulty swallowing, or increased sweating.
People often need help navigating relationships in their life, whether a parent/child relationship, or a relationship with one's significant other, friend, roommate, co-worker, or boss. In therapy, I ask a series of background questions to help us both understand your main concerns within a particular relationship, and then I determine your individual course of therapy to help you achieve your specific relationship goals.
During your initial appointment, we will talk about your concerns, your background, and your goals for therapy. We will work together to develop a treatment plan based on your unique needs and personality. Each therapy session lasts for 50 minutes. I usually recommend that people attend therapy once per week initially, but in some cases I may recommend either more or less frequent sessions.
My goal here is to educate and encourage people seeking counseling as well as to remove the stigma that prevents people from seeking professional therapy. You will find that I've written a variety of articles centered around therapy, mental health, and necessary life skills, all to help you find greater fulfillment in life.
