Dr. James Potts is a graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Dr. Potts has been a part of the Bartow Animal Hospital since 1988 as the Kennel Manager and in 1999, Dr. Potts joined the owner partnership. He is a member of both GVMA and AVMA and is an active member in the Etowah Rotary Club.
Courtney began her career with veterinary clinics when she joined the staff at Bartow Animal Hospital in 1996. She graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2002 having earned a business degree. She is married and has one daughter. Cathy and her family have been fostering cats and kittens for a rescue group for several years.
Charlene has been a veterinary technician for more than 30 years. She has managed inventory at the clinic while performing her technician duties throughout her career. She has been working at Lake City Animal Hospital since it opened in 2001. Charlene manages inventory for all three of our clinics now, and she enjoys helping our clients find any specialty item needed for their pets.
Sarah is planning on becoming a veterinary technician, but her goal is to become a veterinarian in the future. She has a dog named Molly, who was a rescue. Molly previously had heart-worms, but just finished her last heart-worm treatment. Seth has been with the company since late 2019. Seth balances a busy schedule consisting of school classes in the AM, working at our clinic mid day, and working with horses in the evenings.
Whether it be for travel, emergencies or any number of reasons, clients will come across situations where they are unable to take their pets with them. At Bartow Animal Hospital, our boarding program ensures that your pet is properly looked after, fed and provided with human and pet interaction during your travels.

I greatly appreciate the wonderful care that was given to our dog, Callie. Callie was greeted by a smiling individual and she was given back to us by another person who gave detailed instructions on how to care for Callie, post operative. We could see how much the people cared by the way they kept us informed of how well Callie was doing throughout the day before her operation and afterwards. We couldn't have asked for better care of our sweet dog.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability
They literally lost my dad's dog. The dog had to stay overnight due to an infection, and they literally lost the dog. They have not taken responsibility, their security cameras aren't operational to help us understand the situation. How are you so unprofessional as a vet to lose a 90+ lb dog???????

We have been going to Dr. Carl White (and occasionally BOTH Dr. Tripps over the past 16 years and I can honestly say I would never take my babies anywhere else. Even during COVID, they were amazingly responsive. We also use Holly for grooming 3 of our kitties and she's just as amazing

The office staff is rude and will not accept any sort of responsibility for mistakes made. They will blame everyone else, including you. I was told an office manager and a kennel manager would contact me to discuss an issue that has happened the last two times my dogs have been boarded and no one has called me back. Bad business. The vets should be concerned about the staff running their office. We wont be back.

I took both of my golden doodles into the groomer to get groomed. Dropped them off at 8:30 in the morning and picked them up at 5:45.. when I picked them up one of my babies ears were dripping with blood and wouldn’t let me touch his ears. When I got home I tried to clean them up and there were chucks taken out of both ears in the exact same spots (one much bigger than the other.) When my boyfriend and I were finally able to get a picture of his ears we sent them an email with the pictures and they said it couldn’t be from trimmers or shears but it looked like he got stuck on a fence or bit

I essentially drive an hour to come here just to see Dr.Potts for my ferrets. He’s very kind and knowledgeable, and so much more affordable than other exotic vets I’ve seen that have given me little to no answers but a huge bill. They always answer their phones and everyone has been helpful and nice to be around. I don’t review much but wanted to give a nice shoutout<3.

We came in with our 16yo family dog who had come to the end of her life. Our family was told we could all come in the room with her and it was a very difficult time for us as she had been in our life since she was 2 months. Dr. Potts was VERY inconsiderate with the situation. He was rude and told us there were too many people for him to be there. I understand this is a strange time but he can show some compassion. There was a better way of handling the situation. We were told all of us were ok to go in and we never saw anywhere or were told that masks were required. If he was uncomfortable, he

Pre-Covid, they were already going downhill. I dislike change and I’ve taken my pets there for years, so we kept going because we liked the doctors. Now, I can’t even get them to answer the phone, and we haven’t seen or spoken to the actual doctors in over a year. They disconnect the call before answering, meaning I have to call at least 2-3 times before anyone even answers the phone. Then their appointments are over a week out, and the folks who answer the phone are borderline rude about it. Honestly, I’m fed up with it enough to go somewhere else at this point. I called
