Classic Turkey Dinner with Mashed Sweet Potatoes with Maple Pecan Butter, Green Beans Almondine, Stuffing, Gravy and Cranberry Sauce. Come on in and enjoy! NEW ULM - Named using the German word for "social, " a new restaurant is inviting customers to be just that. Sozial, 209 N. Minnesota St., worked out minor kinks last weekend during a soft opening.
The restaurant offers a simple menu within a setting designed for comfort and socializing. The front end of the restaurant is populated with comfortable seating for patrons to lounge in a less formal atmosphere. Behind them, a bar stretches back along the right-hand wall. From the front of the eatery, a guest can see all the way back to where cooks are serving up their food.

Sozial continues to impress me every time I eat here. The look and feel of the place was lovely and welcoming. The menu is small but that means they know what they're doing with the food they do offer, and that really speaks true when you taste it.
The staff are all incredibly friendly and kind, you can really tell they care for everyone that comes in. I ate there soon after they first opened and the chili that came with our dinner was good, I just didn't eat much of it because of the large chunks of peppers in it weren't something I enjoyed. One of the ladies saw that I didn't finish the chili

The food is delicious! Bacon meatloaf and pickle fries ftw! This was our first experience here at the start of our roadtrip to Colorado! We are ready to drive through the night now, thanks!
Sidenote, the mens room has a nice changing table! Its nice when restaurants recognize men care for baboes too!

Nice ambience. Warm, brick interior is cozy. Music playing. Craft cocktails list very appealing. I thoroughly enjoyed the Sozial Bulldog !! Blackened salmon good, a bit salty. Loved sweet potato fries, and cucumber wasabi dip. Fries crunchy, maybe a bit overdone. Green beans with bacon tasty. Very very good spot!!

Now serving breakfast. I frequent Sozial for lunch and enjoy the atmosphere. Staff is always friendly and the owners come out and talk with you if it's not busy.
I was excited when they were going to start opening on the weekends for breakfast. I ordered the chorizo skillet, wife ordered the eggs benedict and our son got the kids breakfast and were able to add strawberries and whip cream to it. If you are a Tea drinker they have a nice selection. Food was delicious and I wasn't disappointed.
I would highly recommend this spot if you have a breakfast itch. They do take reservations. They also

We came here for dinner and a drink upon arrival in New Ulm and had a great experience! The atmosphere was really chill and comfortable. It wasn't over crowded and had to be one of the best food spots in town.
The Rueben I got was on par: juicy but toasty and cheesy. I was thrilled to try pickle fries and learn they were tiny think sticks of sliced pickle spears, which lent itself to be very crispy and delicious! The creamy southwest dipping sauce was great!
My friend tried the Impossible Burger and also gave it five stars! Our Poutine app had salty rich beef gravy and ample cheese. With

4 of us ate dinner here tonight. Had their Alfredo lasagna special. Incredible, and huge portion with a very nice salad. Pasta marinara with impossible burger and it was better than most Italian restaurants. The chicken sandwich was moist and great flavor. And those French fries. I'm drooling thinking about them. We come to new ulm a lot for hockey games and I will never eat anywhere else. To top it off the staff was was top notch! I wish there were one in Minneapolis!!
Thank you!!!!
Thank you!!!!

The entry looked hip, cool, and upscale (for New Ulm) but the further you walked to the back the more cafeteria-style it became. It was if the decorator ran out of money as she got to the back of the restaurant. The menu was affordable, fun options and big portions. However, everything we ordered was over-salted and over seasoned to the point of not really being able to taste the true flavors of the dish. We won't be coming back.

Service was awesome, food on the other hand needs some work, went with a group of friends on a holiday weekend, don't know if they had there back up cooks working. Defenitly don't get the poutine there. Needs a little work for a new restaurant but if they keep improving it'll be definitely worth revisiting in the future.

The best dinner I had in all of Minnesota! Granted I was only in town for a few days, but I hit up a lot of places. After being ignored at the local steakhouse on a busy evening, I made my way to Sozial and was blown away by the difference in the attitude of the entire staff. What a welcoming group!
The service was great. I was greeted very warmly the three times I showed up for dinner, even by the owner who came by to see how I was doing. Ornery locals can learn a thing or two about service by taking a cue from these friendly folks at Sozial.
First night I had a steak and a bottle of wine.

We went for Sunday brunch, it wasn't busy at the time we went. We had a very good server who had a great suggestion for a raspberry mojeto, which was very refreshing. Husband had a spicy bloody, also delicious. He ordered an omelette & I had toast topped with tomato, guacamole & eggs.
The restaurant was clean, quiet (easy to have a conversation without yelling) & great service.
Will be back.
