Find Your Balance Acupuncture
I am a nationally certified Acupuncturist and Chinese herbal medicine practitioner based in Boulder, Colorado. I have been licensed and practicing in the State of Colorado since 2008. I was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. Upon completing high school, I traveled to Olympia, Washington to attend Evergreen State College.

I studied environmental science and completed my Bachelors of Science degree in 2002. Feeling the need to serve the community more directly, I shifted my focus to medicine. I studied nursing at South Puget Sound Community College and received my nursing assistant certification in 2004. I worked at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Services
You can fill these out at your first appointment or before arriving to maximize the time of your treatment. Your first session will begin with an in-depth assessment of your condition and conclude with an acupuncture treatment. During your first visit I will discuss your medical history and current health conditions.
Your Basal Body Temperature is the measured temperature of your body before any activity in the morning. This temperature is your body's baseline temperature. Your temperature will rise between 0.4 and 0.8 degrees Fahrenheit on the day of ovulation and will stay elevated until just before the start of your next period.
Find Your Balance Acupuncture believes strongly in educating clients so that they can make informed lifestyle choices. The more educated you become about your body, the healthier and happier you will feel. During each treatment, I will read your pulse and look at your tongue to diagnose your condition.
At your first treatment, we will do a full intake interview to determine your individual issues and concerns. Based on the pattern that develops, we will propose a treatment plan and tailor it specifically for your condition and lifestyle. Depending on your diagnosis, you may be prescribed a Chinese herbal formula.
Studies show that acupuncture produces its effects by increasing pain-killing biochemicals like endorphins. Acupuncture may also alter the way the brain releases neurotransmitters and hormones. These changes affect involuntary body functions, immune reactions and processes that regulate a person's blood pressure, blood flow, and body temperature.

Suzanne's approach is holistic - a deep understanding of your body and what it needs from a physical and nutritional standpoint. She is a fantastic acupuncturist in Boulder - would highly recommend!

I was hesitant about seeing a new acupuncturist while mine was closed, but Suzanne was wonderful... kind, calm, witty, patient and highly skilled. I didn't experience any discomfort or pain from even a single needle insertion- very rare! I highly recommend her!

I have been getting treatments from Suzanne for 3 months or so now, and I can't say enough good things about my experience. I had a stubborn rotator cuff injury that was not healing, and the pain was keeping me from doing everyday things. I'm so glad I found Suzanne. After each acupuncture session, I could tell a huge difference! I am now able to pick up my kids and even do yoga pain-free. She also helped me with stress and sleep. I highly recommend Find Your Balance Acupuncture.
