Mamute (Maa-mooch) is the Portuguese word for Mammoth - yes, the 6-ton massive mammal known for its tusk and size. The word was attributed to our head instructor Bruno Paulista to reflect his imposing size and unrelenting style on the mat. It's a style we carry over into every class we teach, helping students face life with unwavering self-confidence and tackle any challenge we put in their path.
At Mamute Jiu-Jitsu, we are proud to offer a Kids Martial Arts program that is just a little bit different. Our system is built around the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and our kid's program offers two distinct classes to help students of all ages and abilities learn the skills and have a blast challenging themselves each and every day.
At Mamute Jiu Jitsu, we are making high-level Brazilian Jiu Jitsu more accessible than ever. Our full-gi program includes both "All Level" and "Intermediate/Advanced" classes to meet the needs of men and women across Orange. Whether you're hoping to build strength and challenge your body or you're looking for high-level competition and sport training, we've got you covered.
In our No-Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes at Mamute Jiu Jitsu, we'll take away the grip and leverage a kimono can offer and instead teach you the best self-defense skills for the real-world or sport-based setting. This program offers a set of skills and techniques not offered in full-gi training, including grips like the wrists, back of the neck, knees, and elbows.

Professor Bruno is a phenomenal BJJ instructor who has a real passion to teach the art and techniques of the sport with a world class background (literally a world champion!!). We're so blessed his studio moved to our neck of the woods. Our kids are better for having him in their lives and us for having the Mamute family. Thank you Professor Bruno and Instructor Jessica!!

I am from out of town and I stopped by for training for the night. I love the friendly but very respectful atmosphere. The training was very technical down to the small details. Bigger bjj practitioners usually lack details because they can over power opponents but not professor Bruno. I highly recommend the kids class as well. I will 100% come back to this gym everytime I am in the area.

I visited while in town for work. Professor provides technical instruction, classmates are welcoming, and the gym is clean. The class I attended had belts from black to white, and I got great rolls. Professor was even kind enough to rent me a gi as these days I tend only to travel with my belt. I had a great experience. Thank you!

Excellent martial arts studio that offers jiujitsu classes. The owner relocated to this new location and installed new mats, the space is large and clean, the environment is welcoming and is a great place to exercise and socialize. Highly recommended. There are great restaurants near by as well, Yoshinoya is my favorite and their beef bowls can be found across the street. Perfect for an after training meal.

Absolutely stellar academy. I am in Anaheim temporarily, and I was welcomed with open arms by Mr. Paulista and his students. His teaching is top-notch and he made sure we all understood the techniques he taught and made sure we executed them properly. Aside from the friendly atmosphere and the excellent instruction, it's also a very clean facility with ample mat space. If you live in the Anaheim area or are considering living in or around the city, Mamute BJJ is the academy you must train at.

Very detailed instructions from Professor Bruno "Mamute" Paulista that help beginners build a great foundation quickly. The advanced techniques class will help you expand your game with some very tricky moves and concepts. I've been training with Bruno since 2011. He's very attentive to his students and his detailed instruction makes learning advanced techniques very simple. Students here are friendly and easy going. Coming to class each day is a joy as I get a great workout, see friends, and learn something new.
