The Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering is a private, nonprofit, public-service institution patterned after the National Academy of Sciences. The Academy identifies and studies issues and technological advances that are or should be of concern to the people of Connecticut, and provides unbiased, expert advice on science- and technology-related issues to state government and other Connecticut institutions.

Services
In 1976, recognizing the need for authoritative and organized technical advice for state government, about one hundred technical individuals from both academic and industrial fields formed the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering ("the Academy"), a private nonprofit corporation patterned after the National Academy of Sciences.
CASE members are elected based on recognition of their scientific and engineering distinction achieved through significant contributions in theory or applications, as demonstrated by original published books and papers, patents, the pioneering of new and developing fields, and innovative products, outstanding leadership of nationally recognized technical teams, public service, and external professional awards in recognition of scientific and engineering excellence.
One of the principal purposes of the Academy is to provide science and technology information and advice, usually by performing studies, on public policy issues upon request of a government agency, the General Assembly, or in some instances, private organizations. These studies result in formal Reports published by the Academy.
The Annual Meeting website was enhanced to accommodate the 2021 meeting and includes a recording of the live portion of the Annual Meeting, along with a roster of the 2021 new members, including biographies on each, the 2021 honorary member, the 2020 Connecticut Medal of Science recipient, Middle and High School student STEM awards, the Academy's Fellowship Program, and the keynote presenter.
