Our office overlooks the beautiful Presumpscot River Estuary and every treatment room has a view. Osteopathy is a medical practice centered on wellness; it looks for the cause of distress, as opposed to merely treating symptoms. Doctors of osteopathy (DOs) are guided by the principle that there is an intelligence within us that is always seeking health. At OHM, we have a profound respect for this self-correcting, self-healing mechanism, known in osteopathy as primary respiration.
The principles of functional medicine align with osteopathy, as both are focused on finding the root cause of disease. Like osteopathy, functional medicine looks at how all of the body's systems are interrelated, as well as how patients relate to their environment, genetics, and lifestyle. A partnership between doctor and patient informs lifestyle changes, and more natural approaches for restoring health are pursued whenever possible.
In a medical landscape that's largely impersonal we give patients time to talk and feel heard, holding a compassionate, supportive space. From the moment you lie down on the treatment table the sights and sounds of nature alleviate stress and assist you in returning to a healthy balance. On your initial visit we'll take a history and you'll receive a targeted physical exam as well as an osteopathic structural and functional exam.

I have been a patient of Dr. Donald Hankinson for over 20 years. He is one of the most compassionate, knowledgeable physicians that I have ever entrusted with my healthcare. I have also seen by Dr. Keelyn Wu & Dr. Tom Gilson on the occasion that Dr. Hankinson was away. Both were outstanding, as well. The office staff members are friendly & accomodating - couldn't ask for more!

All of the doctors here are excellent, each with their own style. I have an unusual health issue, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and find their care to be so helpful to me. All of them are interested and willing to learn more about my rare condition. I can't imagine my life without them as they are an important part of my health team. Their office staff is friendly and efficient too!

I love this practice. Dr. Wu is phenomenal, listens and takes his time. When regular medicine was unable or unwilling to help I was able to work with Dr. Wu to improve my hormonal imbalance and PCOS symptoms enough to finally conceive.
I also want to mention how efficient their billing department is; never a late or erroneous statement.
If you are looking for a practice where you are heard and where professionals are going as far as doing more research and reading on your specific concerns to help you...this is the place.

This practice has adapted extremely well to the changes necessary as Covid 19 has invaded our lives. I feel extraordinarily safe being anywhere in the OHM space.
