I honestly don't even know where to begin when it comes to Beardslee Castle! I can't say enough great things. My husband and I got married there in July, and the entire wedding process was so easy with the help of Lynn. She was truly my saving grace when things got stressful. She is so great at all things wedding related, and you will be in the best hands for your big day! Beyond a wedding planner, she really took the time to get to know us, and I don't know what I would have done without her. Anything I forgot, she remembered! She went above and beyond for my husband and I; we can't thank her

We had our wedding here and it was incredible! The food was so excellent and many of my guests say they still think of the meals they had ha. The site is beautiful and well maintained, the owners and staff are friendly and accommodating, and the wedding was so affordable and perfect for us. Can't recommend it enough.

Had a great experience. Ambiance, service, and food were all on point.
We had Hen of the Woods brushetta as an appetizer, which was fabulous. I had summer veggie pasta and my partner had steak. Both were generous portions and very tasty! They also had an extensive beer menu, which was nice. Overall a lovely evening, I hope to visit again sometime.

Take the ride! The food is delicious! we've had many meals there and have gone to the dungeon for casual meals but this past weekend had a bridal shower and couldn't have been more pleased with the entire experience. The atmosphere amazing and the staff so kind, friendly and efficient. The owners know what they are doing. It's clear they want to make you happy and they certainly do !

I have been to Beardslee several times and have yet to be disappointed. The variety and selections are always outstanding and make me order more than I need because I can never decide on just one appetizer. All of the selections are wonderful and I have told so many friends about the place that I can't wait for the Covid-19 restrictions to be over so that I can bring a large group to enjoy what I know will be a memorable event

Ok so this place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! My wife and I started with the bbq eel, gator cake and the Calamri. The gator and bbq eel were by far 2 of the greatest appetizers I ever had. For dinner I had the tuna steak with horseradish mashed potatoes. The tuna was beautifully cooked, amazing flavor. The horseradish mashed potatoes were out of this world. My wife had the Strip with garlic mashed. Again an absolutely beautiful cut. The char was amazing the greens had a nice crunch with a soft inside. Absolutely worth the 5hrs drive. We were fortunate enough to me one of the owners Lynn at the end of

This spot is a hidden treasure. The food is amazing and elegant. The dress code is business casual. My only complaint is the wait on our food. But overall was a great experience. We came during COVID and didn't get to experience the murder mystery part. The castle it's self is amazing and beautiful. The staff is friendly and the manager is walking around and helped us with our wobbly table.

Excellent experience. Scenery is just amazing, words don't do it justice, nor do pictures, must see it to appreciate it's beauty fully. Great staff, very friendly and willing to go out of their way to help you. Now food, I went in with low expectations, simply just because of a few bad reviews, well I can honestly say that food was AMAZING, I had the "full rack of lamb" it was delicious. Definitely got the quantity and quality. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Go try it and come back here and like 👍 my review as a "thank you" for the recommendation.

This is one of the greatest, most beautiful gems that Upstate NY has to offer. The grounds and the venue are simply breathtaking. Especially if you like creepy, old, haunted houses. I've been here twice - once for a murder mystery dinner and another time for dining and drinks. Had a blast both times. Food was wonderful. Drinks in the scary dungeon were awesome. I love this place.

Their Thanksgiving meal is amazing every single year and I highly recommend it. The turkey and stuffing are particularly delicious. The atmosphere, as well as the castle itself, is beautiful. My only suggestion is that they add the ability to make reservations online, through their website. I just love this place!

I was surprised for my birthday with a mystery dinner show here. It was a Friday night and the place was full. We were early so they directed us to their
"Dungeon " bar. It was a fantastic area with all the ambiance of well a castle dungeon. It was being set up for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The side yard also had white chairs set up for what I guess would be where vows would be taken. Later, we wished the mystery dinner was held in the dungeon as it would have been the better setting. They have a restaurant on the main floor that looked very inviting and the food smelled really good

Gorgeous castle for a romantic dinner. Prior to dinner we went to the bar in the basement called the dungeon because it really is one and enjoyed a pint of bee nectar cider. The setting was really nice with stone walls and a long copper bar. One of the tables was actually even in a dungeon cell! We then went upstairs and shared bay scallops in creamy sauce with fresh baked bread for appetizer which was delicious. My husband had bacon wrapped steak on bed of sauteed mushrooms and I had pan seared Asian sea bass with mango salsa and Asian noodles both were excellent. Definitely a great place

Went to Beardslee this past weekend. Got there a little before our reservation so we had a drink in The Dungeon. After drinks we went upstairs and were seated promptly. Server was excellent and played along with our banter. We order the Chilean Sea Bass which was excellent, and paired with a beautiful wine suggested by our waitress. Look forward to going back soon!

Came here on Halloween evening of 2018. We got dinner with several friends
Additionally, we were scouting it out for out potential wedding location. Food was poor, drinks were okay. Waitress was inattentive but the bartender was friendly (we had pre-dinner cocktails.
What did me in was the unknown insect with what seemed like 100 legs crawling up the wall! So gross. Will not return, which is unfortunate as the theme and vibe of this place is definitely unique.

I've been wanting to go here for a few years now but something always came up. We finally made it yesterday and it was a beautiful day for a drive to an amazing restaurant.
The pictures online don't do it justice, but I was in aw waking and sitting that I just forgot to take some. The grounds are beautiful and inside everything is true to what you would expect in a castle. Stone walls and dark wood accents. The tables were spread apart so you could have a conversation and not hear someone else's. We ate in main dining room but there is a top floor where a wedding was set up and

Went to this location for a wedding. The setting is nice and there are a few lodging options nearby if you're making it a destination.
Apparently it was a castle built on a whim by a wealthy landowner some years back. The grounds are charming but not expansive. The best part of this place is the bar downstairs: the "dungeon" which looks like an actual dungeon complete with side rooms that one could imagine as prison cells from days gone by.
I was not super excited by the food. After all, when not catering to private events like weddings, Beardslee is an operational restaurant.

Absolutely 1st class! My wonderful wife brought me here for my birthday. A picturesque Victorian folly from the Mid 19th Century, now a restaurant with banqueting facilities.
You can walk all around, see the dungeon (bar and restaurant) or the big space at the top for functions.
The food was really 5*. We started with a Bruschetta, topped with a medley of mushrooms and herbs and garnished with balsamic. I opted for the Angus strip with caramelised onions and Bearnaise sauce whilst my wife had the Ravioli with assorted mushrooms. Both dishes were superb. All the food is sourced locally.

We held my sisters baby shower here primarily because of the ambiance. The castle is absolutely beautiful and makes for a warm and charming environment for any special occasion.
Planning and coordination was very easy and efficient. We were able to bring our own decorations and music to create the theme we hoped for. A+ for the venue.
We ordered mimosas off the brunch menu, but were surprised to see that they were pre-mixed in a punch bowl with what tasted (and felt) like mostly orange juice.
We ordered a buffet style brunch, made to order omelets. The food was absolutely delicious and the

My parents brought my 9 yo son and me here in July. They consider it a special occasion place and were really excited to bring us here. Even if the drive was twice as long as my father remembered it being (1.5 hrs vs 45 mins!), it was certainly well worth the trip! The castle provides a special and unique ambience, and the food more than lived up to the setting.
I had the Maple Leaf Farms duck breast, and it was one of the best duck dishes I've had anywhere. The breast was perfectly cooked, the accompaniments were nicely executed, and the sauce was the perfect complement to the dish. This

My friend and I took a crazy 10+ hour trip to Upstate New York from Indiana over the weekend for her friend's wedding.
I came because I needed to get away for a second and I haven't ever been anywhere that far north before and thought it would be cool to see something different. Well one, I thought the town was beautiful being a little mountain town with an English feel to it.
However, this castle though in the middle of nowhere was lovely. I loved the look of it. I thought it was a perfect place for this wedding to happen.
Didn't really get to do too much exploring because

I know I'm a little late with saying this but I had my wedding here in December, it was absolutely beautiful! Everything fell into place perfectly and they were so accommodating. I was in college while planning my wedding and the communication was unbelievable and he stress of planning a wedding almost disappeared completely! The food was delicious and the price was great. My husband and his friends loved getting ready downstairs. To make a long story short, my special day turned out great because the friendly staff and great atmosphere, I wouldn't change my experience at all.
