In 1969 teenagers, Mike and Pete Cahoon, decided they needed to get into a line of work that would allow them to go both to school and support their surfing lifestyle. Apartment building in Houston, Texas had just started taking off and they joined a large production framing crew. They were trained in all phases of the conventional framing process.
Little did they realize at the time, that they were to become pioneers in multi-family production framing in Texas. The brothers swung hammers doing piece work for various framing contractors until around 1974, when they started roofing apartments as well. They went on to growing one of the largest turnkey apartment roofing companies in the US.
