Services
The Central Louisiana Human Services District (CLHSD) is the result of a multi-year effort to combine the delivery of mental health, addictive disorders, and developmental disability service systems. Historically, services were provided to the clients by 3 separate systems (Office of Mental Health- OMH, Office of Addictive Disorders- OAD, and Office of Citizens with Developmental Disabilities- OCDD).
The Central Louisiana Human Services District (CLHSD) provides an array of services to individuals who are concerned that they may have a mental illness or an addictive disorder as well as to individuals who have already been diagnosed with behavioral health issues (mental illness and/or addictive disorders) and/or developmental disabilities.
The Board of Directors is comprised of 11 members, 1 from each of the 8 parishes comprising the District, who are appointed by their local police jury, and 3 At-Large members who are appointed by the Governor.

The eight Board members representing each parish have expertise in behavioral health (mental illness and addictive disorders) and/or developmental disabilities, fiscal affairs, or they represent law enforcement, school-based clinics, the coroner's office and/or the judicial system. The three At-Large members are a parent, consumer, or advocate for individuals with mental illness, addictive disorders, or developmental disabilities.
Underage alcohol, drug, tobacco prevention-provides life-skills training to school-aged children. Child Consumer Care-provides assistance to address unmet needs of children/adolescents with emotional or behavioral disturbances for tutoring, transportation, household supplies, etc. Smoking Cessation Trust (SCT), free cessation including approved medication and tobacco treatment sessions - group or individual - for qualified LA residents.
The Board of Directors of Central Louisiana Human Services District conducts its regular monthly meeting on the 1st Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm. The meeting is open to the public.
