Lisa Davison, the owner of Aspire Therapy Services, has 20 years of clinical pediatric experience. She has worked in a variety of settings, including hospital-based outpatient, private outpatient, school districts, home care, inpatient, and a preschool for children with cerebral palsy. Lisa specializes in multiple disabilities, adaptive equipment, serial casting, and orthotic intervention.
Aspire Therapy Services represents a passion for trying new things, using a sound knowledge base, and celebrating the child and family. Individualized treatment plans to address a variety of diagnoses: cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophies, down syndrome, torticollis, toe walking, and motor skill delays.
Lisa has 20 years of experience working with chronic disabilities as a Physical Therapist and also has training as a Pilates Reformer Instructor. This is the perfect combination to approach the treatment of adults with disabilities - finding a way to get stronger, move better, and relieve chronic pain.
The Universal Exercise Unit, or spider cage, has traditionally been used in children with Cerebral Palsy as an intensive therapy program. The system of pulleys are used for strengthening and range of motion, and the addition of elastic cords is then used for dynamic movement in any position.
We are finding that children with various diagnoses can benefit from the use of this system - from children who are non-ambulatory to those working on high-level activities. The UEU can be used as an intensive program and can ALSO be integrated into a typical therapy session. Below you can get a better idea of how the spider cage is used during our physical therapy sessions.

Using the most advanced clinical Reformer in the Balanced Body system, we can adapt the unit for any body size and ability. It can be difficult for children with a motor skill deficit to strengthen a key muscle while battling what the rest of their body is doing. The Pilates Reformer allows us to isolate muscles and learn effective movement patterns.

My daughter has been working with Lisa for many years now and she is fantastic. Lisa is dedicated to her patients, extremely knowledgeable and goes above and beyond the typical PT. The work space is clean and is conveniently located next to May We Help! Lisa is one of the few PT’s in the area that works on the reformer with children. She is well versed in all areas of pediatric Physical Therapy. We are lucky to have such an expert in our area!
