The Soda Fountain was built in the fall of 2007 and spring of 2008 and opened for business in May of 2008. The Owners, Steve and Lynn Boucher wanted to open a restaurant in their hometown that could be a gathering place for the locals and folks from surrounding areas. Lynn always enjoyed the look and feel of 50's retro restaurants, so the decision was made to create The Soda Fountain.
Let the Soda Fountain Host your next party! The Adirondack Room at the Soda Fountain features a beautiful stone fireplace, picturesque windows and accommodates up to 65 guests. Customize your menu or order off of the Soda Fountain Restaurant menu- the choice is yours! Banquet Menus feature handmade entrees, carving station and traditional menu items.

So cute! Glad I finally went. Food was great, waitress was friendly. It has a retro 50s theme and everything was well kept and clean.

Place has an amazing staff, the waitresses were willing to get involved in a trivia quest about the era that the Diner has as displayed decor. The food is delicious, and timely service.

Food was average at best. Quiet, 50s atmosphere. Place left a lot to be desired. The milkshake listed as world famous was pretty solid. Riggies were absolutely disappointing. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend unless you live down the road. Also, there was a major fly problem.

The shakes were great. Waitress and host were very polite and courteous. Our 2nd time there, we ordered fishfry dinner like the last visit, only this time seemed the fish was a bit over cooked, and salty, wasnt offered a replacement for the over cooked fish( kinda burnt, and a bit salty) as most places do. Spent a lot of money for what was suppose to have been a great meal ( big disappointment this time around) Just a bit surprised we were not even offered a replacement . I did mention it to the waitress about the food when asked. She just said that she would let the cook know, and again never offered

Our last visit wasn't that good, wife had hot fudge sundae which had very little hot fudge, pulled pork sandwiches were chewy. We said something, but manager never came to talk to us.
Update: 6/17/21
Stopped in for a sundae, had a different waitress.
She made sure our sundae's were made correctly, much better this time.

Huge disappointment! It once was a fantastic fun restaurant! Servers were miserable and slow. Burgers burnt and wrong toppings. Milkshakes blah. Took forever to get our toppings. Expensive.
And the toilet broken

On our way home we decided to drive off the beaten path. My girlfriend and I found this diner called "The Soda Fountain". A '50's themed diner with all the nostalgia, themes and memorabilia one could hope to find. The staff was fantastic! Our waitress was concise, attentive (without being overbearing) and friendly . She also allowed us to take a picture of her. A '50's themed poodle skirt and sock hop attire. The manager was friendly, courteous and pleasant. If I lived in closer proximity I would frequent this establishment regularly. Keep up the great work!! I would rate it 6 stars if possible

Retro rocking diner in the north country. I have had dinner twice once my favorite dinner meatloaf and once the bacon blu burger. Great food items and both times service is also a fun great experience. Old style music like eating at happy days. If in Remson NY it's a must try on your way north stop you won't be disappointed.

50's style diner with a large menu to choose from. Staff are dressed in 50's style outfits. Excellent milk shakes. Hamburgers, salads fries, they used to have riggies to die for, but they now have a thicker sauce that isn't as good.

As per usual 10/10, place is a nice gem off the main route 12 and love bringing folks up here on the train. My favorite go to is the garbage plate, food was plentiful plenty of meat and absolutely delicious. Owner is extremely nice guy and really aims for excellence.

We went there yesterday for late lunch....it was our first time!! It's good foods. Friendly staffs with poodle skirt like in 1950s. So we decide to have ice cream. So we waited to long for waitress to come to our table. Like 15 minutes then waitress came over and we told her we had to due an appt. So we had to go....sigh no ice cream!!!!!

Atmosphere is definitely that of the 50's. Enjoyed seeing the waitress is poodle skirt and hair done.

Food left a little to be desired. The mushroom burger I had, 57 Chevy, was cooked well but lacked flavor. Fries were soggy and mushy.

The corvette burger my husband had was dry and the fries were the same.

We did not try the ice cream however almost everyone in the place had ice cream rather than food.

A perfect break on a road trip from Rochester to Big Moose Lake. This was an unexpected little gem in a small town. The corn fritters brought me back to beer snacks in a college bar in Ithaca and were super tasty. The cheeseburger was freshly made and tasty and the fries were crisp and addictive. Decor is kitchsy (think cardboard Elvis cut out) but went with the theme. Service was quick and friendly. I just wish they served Coke products.

A friend lives in Old Forge and we live near Little Falls so we met in the middle at the Soda Fountain Restaurant in beautiful downtown Remsen.

The chairs are made of that wonderful mid-century red vinyl with chrome legs. Sadly, I am old enough to have used the original Formica Boomerang table tops.
The friendly wait staff wears poodle skirts and the Jukebox plays 50s era rock and roll. Lots of fun.

The place consists of two large rooms. We sat in the far corner for a little privacy.

Bevy ordered nachos: multi-colored tortillas with hamburger, onion, refried beans, a little tomato and jalapeno

This is a really cute little place. The decor manages to be kitschy, without wandering too far into tacky territory. The nachos were the best I've had in a while (the chili on them was seasoned really well!) and the chocolate soda float reminded me of childhood. Onion rings were also really solid. Patty melt was just ok - a little bland and it tasted like the parties were previously frozen.

Good prices good food. Take a step back into the past and enjoy a nice meal at this 50's themed restaurant. I would suggest to try a malt milkshake and Mac and cheese bites. Overall it's a good place for a snack especially while snowmobiling!

I can't believe I've been by this place so many times and didn't take advantage of this gem. I'll be back as soon as I can. I tend to avoid Thousand Island dressing, but it's extraordinary. Great local service, they nail the 50s motif to a tee; not cheesy.

Came here for dinner after a trip to Enchanted Forest. It's easy-on easy-off from Route 12, so that's nice. I thought that the black bean soup was very excellent; homemade for sure. The burgers were decent. We also ordered some ice cream cones for dessert but they came a little bit melty; i think they were sitting out before our server brought them to us. I think the server could have been a little bit more attentive, but other than that I thought the food was decent. They could stand to get some authentic antiques, not just reproductions, to improve the 50s feel of the place.
