This practice, originally Killen Family Dental. Founded by Dr. James Zickler in the early 80's. Merging with Dr. Bruce Evans 2018 to become Shoal Creek Dental. Dr. Evans and Dr. Zickler share values & a respect for our patients that is most honorable. Dr. Zickler has transitioned into full retirement but is mentioned here for the legacy of trust and the true craftsmanship of dental care he provided for 40 years.
It is our intention to build on that foundation. Speaking of Legacy, Dr. Saul Evans has chosen to return home to build his practice. The culture here is to mentor each other and Dr. S. Evans will have the benefit of working along side his father to gather this wealth of information. Our service range from Simple Fillings to Complex Full Mouth Rehabilitation.

What are we "About"? This was the hardest question to answer because it felt like this portion should be about "fixing teeth". So, for some time, this was the page that we just couldn't get right. Evans is one of Northwest Alabama's leading practitioners in dental implants and restorative dentistry. He began implant studies and the permanent replacement of missing teeth over 30 years ago. Since then, he has lead the frontier in the area of the latest technology of mini implants, a technique to replace teeth and hold ill fitting dentures.
Born and raised here in Killen Alabama. Dr. Evans excelled in academics and enjoyed playing on Brooks High-school tennis team and local baseball ball league. He graduated his under graduate studies at University of North Alabama going on to complete his D.M.D degree at LECOM School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. James Zickler founded this practice on this site in 1980. Well respected in the dental community and by his patients for his mild manor and excellent dental care. Dr. Zickler is one of the most honorable individuals - and our associated time here with him remains an honor. Also, a shout out to him for all the donut drops!
