Advanced Machine & Engineering (AME) was founded in 1966 out of Rockford, Illinois by Willy Goellner-a man of drive and determination who immigrated to America from Germany in 1958. Originally known as Advanced Engineering Co., AME offered design, engineering, and consulting to industries including machine tool, assembly, and packaging out of a small 1,000 square foot office space in Loves Park, Illinois.

AMROK Tombstones and Fixture Plates are designed to hold the industry's tightest tolerances for flatness, parallelism, perpendicularity, surface finish, and hole location. All Tombstones and grid plates are built and then inspected using AME's in-house Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). AMROK tombstones, tooling columns, and fixture plates are manufactured to the highest precision and quality standards with our precision tolerances.

Because tombstones are the foundation for workpiece during machining, their free vibration dynamic response becomes part of the entire machining system. The goal of this effort was to measure the dynamics individually and how those dynamic forces affect the entire machine set up.
All tests were conducted by Dr. Tony L. Schmitz, a world renowned mechanical engineering professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and joint faculty at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, who specializes in machine tool research and manufacturing engineering.
