Upon arrival and receiving our hotel keys, we opened the door to our room and our room hadn't even been cleaned yet. I get places are short staffed but I used to work housekeeping/front desk at a hotel. House keepers always relayed back what room they'd clean every few hours. At 4pm, I'm not sure how we were given keys to a room yet cleaned. Went next door and actually got a better room at a cheaper rate.

My night has be terrible, this is the worst customer service I have ever received. I booked a room and checked in around 9:00pm. I had problems with being let in my room with the door key card. I had to go to the office and get my key card reprogrammed multiple times and after the third time a worker had to use a device to let me in and she reassured me that the door would work because the device would charge the door. Upon my return the door and key card failed again, I went back to the office for a fourth time, except this time I was not greeted or handled in a professional manner. The

Check in took forever. When we walked into the room it smelled like someone just finished smoking a gigantic blunt. The smell of weed was overpowering. The room was, for lack of a better word, moist. The sheets, the floor, everything was strangely damp. The floor hadn’t been swept, there was debris all over - YUCK! The bed was springy and not comfortable. The only good thing is the air conditioner worked great.

Reserved a specifically non smoking room, but was given a room that reeked of cigarettes and multiple replacement rooms smelled as well. I asked for a refund and returned my key, but clerk seems to have never checked me out and refused to fully refund me when I noticed they charged for the first night.

Me and boyfriend would come here to get away. We have visited this location 2 other times and never had an issue. On 9/19, at 10am housekeeping came banging on the door, we told them no thank you. After about 15 mins pass, they came back again banging and saying the same thing. They banged a total of 3 times!!! Even After we told them no. Then while my boyfriend was showering, they attempted to open the door while I laid on the bed. They opened it but Thank god the door stopper was there, once again all within the 10am hour! Check out wasn’t even till 12pm!! We didn’t feel safe don’t understand

This place needs a major renovation. I thought I was getting a non smoking room but was put in a smoking room, so I bought a can of Febreze and sprayed everything. The carpet is stained, water stains on the ceiling, the comforters were lumpy, should've been thrown out years ago, the light in the bathroom was so dim you could hardly see, and after just a couple minutes in the shower the water turned cold. It just felt dirty overall. I asked the front desk about changing rooms but there weren't any nonsmoking available. The next morning we checked out, cancelled the second night and

Dirtiest place I've ever slept in my entire life. Everything in the room was broken. The lamps, the alarm clock, the phone... The light in the bathroom barely worked and was hanging from wires. We were forced into a smoking room because, that's all that was left. I can't complain about that because I accepted that room, but there were cigarette ashes all over the bathroom floor! This place was absolutely filthy. Looks nothing like the neat clean pictures on their website. I'd rather sleep in my car.

I stayed at Varsity Inn North the last week of September and will never again. The bed had craters so large Gandalf could battle a balrog inside. I'd consider sleeping on the floor but the stained linens, towels and corner chair led me to believe I'd contract an infectious disease. There were cobwebs and a very friendly spider in the bathroom almost distracting me from the short, curly black hairs in the soap holder. Don't bother turning on the TV unless you enjoy the fuzzy pictures you stare at to discover a hidden picture inside. There's no shampoo or anything either. For
