Natural Transitions
Janet (not her real name) was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016. She was referred to me by her physician, not because of the cancer, but because of the stress she was experiencing at the time. Janet was exhausted mentally, physically, and spiritually-yet she continued to focus on caring for others rather than herself.

Stress had an impact on her marriage more than her diagnosis. There are medications that can treat the symptoms of stress, that can dull the pain, numb the senses, soften the disappointments, and help you sleep. But they don't heal the body or the soul. Medication can be helpful during a transition, but there are alternative ways to heal the mind, body, and soul.
Services
Any transition serious enough to alter your definition of yourself will require not just small adjustments in your way of living, but also a full metamorphosis. Do you want to learn new skills and strategies to improve your overall well-being? If you are willing to be open, honest, and learn more about yourself, my approach could benefit you.
John started talking about what was bothering him before he even sat down on my couch. According to John, his parents, siblings, and his new mother-in-law were all contributing to the stress and anxiety he was feeling. As he wound up and begin reading me his laundry list of problems, I stopped him.
For those who know what to look for, nature can be both pharmacy and grocery. It can heal, relax, teach, and educate. Going with someone who is at home in the woods, familiar with herbs, plants and roots can make a simple walk in the park more enjoyable. Would you like to gather with close friends, or maybe your friends and their daughters, to talk candidly about puberty?.
I feel the same way about the mountains. Put me on a lake with a book and a glass of tea, or lemonade, or wine, and I'm a new woman. Both women knew something most of us do - that getting out into nature, whether it's near the ocean, a beach, a lake, or even a stream in a nearby city park can make us feel rejuvenated, fresh, and relaxed.
We are electric bodies. Read any high school or college biology text, and you'll learn that every cell in our bodies is alive with electricity - the same kind of electricity that sustains life on all levels. Our bodies are not only made of electrical cells, they're also capable of generating electricity.

Pat has one of the warmest souls, and it translates to her methods as a counselor and a healer. She has a gift for guiding her clients down paths of healing, renewal, and peace, but she allows them to find those paths themselves. I absolutely recommend her practice!

Pat Cheeks is amazing. Great listener, and has 30 years of experience as a nurse, counselor and therapist. She's one of the few life coaches in the area that does "healing touch," and has a foundation in both alternative/holistic medicine and traditional medicine.

I like that she's got a psychiatric nurse background and experience as well as being a life coach because she can tell if you need mental health type therapy or a medical check-up or just some good old life coaching and advice. She's helped me get through some major life changes and sped up the grieving process

Patricia Cheeks, in my experience, has proven to be warm, wise, patient, experienced, knowledgable, kind, and charming. There is no downside. No bad side effects. Highly recommended.
