Food poisoning, or more accurately foodborne illness, affects 48 million people in the United States and causes 128,000 people to be hospitalized annually. So what causes food poisoning, and how can you prevent it? If your joints hurt, you probably want to know why and what can be done to alleviate your pain.

Here are the seven most common causes of joint pain and how they are treated. About 20 percent of adults have varicose veins, and most everyone has a spider vein or two. While you may not like the way they look, these bluish, lumpy intrusions are usually harmless. However, for some people, they can be painful and dangerous.

Would get zero stars if at all possible. Sorriest hospital I’ve EVER been to. Would not recommend to anyone who values their own life. Staff is rude and makes very unnecessary and uncalled for comments. I cannot say that many of the staff here even give a durn about us patients. They’re here for a check, obviously.

UNC WAYNE MEMORIAL, receives a perfect 10 in my book. From start to finish they were simply amazing! The care that I got was astronomical.

I came into the ER with abdominal pain and a fever. My boyfriend couldn't come in with me to the waiting room, which may have been for COVID-19 reasons. I was in there for about 2-3 hours before they let me in. They did some testing and a ultra sound to determine that my gallbladder decided to become a rock garden and needed to be taken out.
The nurses were nice, the surgeon laughed at my joke about not being an operation game, so that was a plus. Everyone knew what they were doing, and the surgery went well!
As for complaints, I didn't get very much post op information in regards to restrictions

Adding UNC to its name didn't help. Currently have been here over 3 hours unseen in ER. I'm not allowed to go in until she gets a room...so I've been standing outside the ER this entire time. Btw...she's 9 months pregnant but not here for labor. This place is a joke.

The labor and delivery staff is very pleasant and helpful. They answered all our questions and took care of every concern we had. The rooms were very nice and spacious. No matter my request they made sure I was comfortable. This hospital made my postpartum comfortable.

Logged into another acct just to leave a recent review. This hospital is still the worst and they will literally kill you! Took my son in for stomach pain, they gave an X-ray and said all looked normal and sent us on our way. Fast forward 3 weeks and the Pediatric GI in Chapel Hill was appalled the ER doctors told us all was ‘normal’. Nothing about his X-ray was normal and he is now scheduled to spend 4/5 days in chapel hill hospital for the issues!!! DO NOT COME HERE

The nurses and doctors were wonderful. The emergency room staff was awful. My mom entered the emergency room and I was not allowed to come in with her. I kept coming back to the door of the emergency room to ask if mom was being seen and was alright. Apparently asking about an 82 yr is considered bothersome to your staff. I was told to stop coming to door. And the security person was called to make sure I understood "Stay Away"!! Mom is 82 yr. She needed me. She was in extreme pain and throwing up bags of brown liquid. She was left to sit throwing up in EXTREME pain for almost 5 hours!!! When Dr

UNC's Wayne Memorial Hospital has done everything it can to continue to obscure the prices it charges patients for procedures. CMS now requires every hospital to post a machine readable file showing list prices, cash discount prices and payer negotiated rates for all services & procedures.

Instead the UNC's Wayne Memorial Hospital has a consumer interface that has some of this information but a user needs to scroll through one procedure at a time - see https://www.unchealthcare.org/about-us/billing-and-financial-assistance/chargemaster/.

The interface isn't searchable, sortable

I was not pleased of the medical service that was given. I was in the hospital for a few times before. What I can remember is that I came there usually from 12am-1am And would be gone by that hospital until 10am. The staff was extremely "bureaucratic". Whenever they given you vitals or ask you question , It sounded like as if someone was reading a bad script for a terrible movie. I remember that the radiologist folks are extremely awesome.

There service is horrible ! The doctors totally have terrible bedside manners . Phillip Mayo and Dr TJ
Thejaswini Kempananjappa (TJ) Kaggere, MD are the worst and don't care about patients or family ! They were adamant that my family DNR my dad ! I hope they are satisfied he passed at this disgusting dump hospital ! If you love your family bypass this hospital they don't care and right down to the patient advocate don't care and try to cover up their messiness !! They are the worst and I'm not sure how UNC would add their name to this place . They have a lot of cleaning up

I was given a small sling the other day (my wrist was hanging off) and when I told the LPN it was too small for my arm, she told me it wasn’t. When I told her I was a medic and emt, she said I was right and removed the small sling.
Today, I was referred to get a HIDA at the clinic on base, my ultrasound was faxed to Wayne, they called the clinic and said that I hadn’t had a ultrasound done after the records were sent over which shows their lack of attention to detail. My referral coordinator and I spoke with the radiologist and she then saw the ultrasound. It’s just lack of attention to

The level of disappointment I have with this hospital is beyond words. The nurses here show nothing but lack of care, respect or empathy. I don’t care what you have behind your name, RN etc. you will not and shouldn’t be allowed to talk to patients who walk in like they are illiterate. If it wasn’t for my child and Jesus in the room, the nurse would have been put in her place. This hospital is going down day by day. The hospital needs to evaluate people personal beliefs, morals and ethics before just hiring someone just because they passed nursing school. I’m sick of this hospital. If I

Our experiences at Wayne UNC Health Care over the years have not always been the best, but the hospital continues to improve. Our latest experience, which included the front visitors desk, the ICU and the sixth floor of the hospital, was excellent in every respect, from every doctor, nurse and staff person we encountered. Especially in the time of COVID, the staff went the extra mile, not only to care for my dad in a professional way, but to help my mother cope through this experience even within the current visiting restrictions. The nursing assistants were on hand to help my father with things

Providers office never notify us that our insurance didn't cover lab test sent to the hospital. Before we realized the charges coming. We had another visit and hit us with another large amount. UNC Billing dept took two day to figure out what the charges where from. The provider's office should have they knowledge to foresee the high cost and notify us before going further. But hey it not their money they spending it is the money they was making for the UNC group. UNETHICAL !!!! No wonder every one is leaving WAYNE county going to Johnson and Wilson FOR HEALTH SERVICES..

I was referred to Wayne from our on base dr at Seymour Johnson for my 23 month old son for possible Bronchiolitis. And given the previous reviews I was extremely skeptical on how we would be treated and I can say with 100% certainty the Pediatric department is TOP NOTCH! Nurse Stacy, Blake, Brittney, Dr. Boyd, Dr. Stup and really the whole staff were so amazing and went above and beyond my expectations. Although I don't want to have to go there because it's never a good thing to be in a hospital I most definitely feel comfortable knowing how I will be treated with care, respect and know

My wife and I have used the UNC healthcare at Chapel Hill and it was a great experience. We live in Wayne County. My wife had to go to the ER at 9:45 am with bleeding in her BM and inconsistent blood pressure. We are still in the ER at 8:40 pm. This is unacceptable. They came in an hour and half ago and said they had a room for us and would be it no less than 30mins still in the ER. I told me wife if anything happens to me to get me to Wake Co or Greenville because it will take them forever to treat me. I wish they got paid on how prompt and efficient they are. This place is not a hospital.

This review is for the general surgeon- Dr. Stanton I believe is his name. My family seemed to have no problems with the hospital or emergency room. If I could give negative points to the surgeon I would.
The surgeon was very rude and became short and disrespectful with me via telephone after asking him serious questions about my 84 year old grandmother's surgery. If you do not have the patience or compassion to explain things to both the patients and family members maybe you should rethink your specialty/career. As a healthcare provider myself I would NEVER become rude or disrespectful with

I gave birth to my daughter at Wayne Memorial. The nurses were absolutely wonderful. They had great breastfeeding resources and support from lactation specialists. The nursery was fantastic. They did everything I asked. The staff followed my birthing plan to the letter. The pediatricians and On doctors were friendly and helpful. I think it was a good place to have a baby.
