There is no such thing as a perfect relationship. We all must work at our relationships to keep them healthy and thriving. When we experience difficulty or uncertainty in our relationships, we all could benefit from a compassionate and non-judgmental outside perspective to help us navigate unsteady waters and work towards healing and change.
Sometimes in life taking refuge with others who share similar experiences and struggles can help us to learn and grow. Group therapy is designed to bring individuals and families together to share in our experiences and act as a support network and a sounding board.
Group members often help one another come up with specific ideas for improving a difficult situation or life challenge and can also help to hold you accountable along the way as you work towards change.Group therapy can also help you to put your own problems into perspective and normalize what you are going through by the sharing of other group members experiences.

Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) teaches new and healthier skills to better manage intense emotions and enhance interpersonal relationships. DBT focuses on teaching skills in the areas of emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. Emotion regulation is one's ability to effectively manage and change intense emotions that are causing issues in one's life.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) teaches that how we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion), and how we act (behavior) are all interconnected. How we think greatly determines our feelings and behavior. In such, negative and unrealistic thought patterns cause us distress and suffering.
The way we perceive or interpret situations or events become distorted which then results in behaviors that we may not have intended if we would have been able to view the situation from a different, healthier perspective. Thus, by changing the way that we react when under distress, results in a more positive and healthier outcome.
