Fantastic place; have had my hair cut and styled here for YEARS, even after moving from Mobile to Pensacola. The service. Atmosphere. Pampered, yet efficient? Tara, the owner, and the entire team are amazing. They’ve been helping me go from a natural curly black hair to having frosty white / grey highlights in my locs, and I’m ADDICTED. Lol. Hope you choose well, and trust that you’re in good hands here. I know I do.

Love! I just moved to Mobile from San Diego. I was hoping to find a great salon that uses non-toxic, organic hair color for highlights. I did not have high hopes in finding that here but I was so wrong! I had a haircut and highlights with Autumn. She is one of the most meticulous and talented hair colorists I’ve worked with in years (maybe ever?) this is one of the best results I’ve ever had with highlights and the cut was great too. Plus, they use high-quality, all-natural products and just the overall vibe here is perfect. What a great find here in Mobile, Alabama!

This salon is one of those places that just make you feel good! The environment, the people, the music, the smells, it’s just a place that puts you in a good mood. Especially when you leave with incredible hair! Tara is so talented and really takes the time to get to know her customers. She knows what you want and how you want it better than you do! You not only get top notch stylists, but the products that they use are all organic, smell great, and your hair will love them! I can’t say enough good things about this place. I paid 250 for a cut and ombre that barely lifted, fried my hair, and had straight lines across instead of a true ombre... for barely 4 inches of hair to be processed and to not be satisfied is a big bummer at that price. Not to mention I got there on time but kept having my appointment pushed back due to over booking issue. The stylist was very friendly though and my hair cut was cute so at least there's that... I had to correct my color at home.

Wanted my hair cut short with only one reference photo. She did an amazing job improvising and gave me the style I wanted that did the most for my hair type. She then showed me how to style it and recommended some of her products. The salon itself was super cute too with lots of antique decorations!

I am so grateful for this salon! They exceeded my expectations. The service they provided me and my mom was exceptional! From me asking them for a same day appointment( note: I called 20+ salon and this was the only salon who really tried to accommodate us) to working really hard to get the color I wanted and the end result was mind blowing. Mary was amazing! When she found out that I’m getting married in a week, she really worked so hard to help me get the style I wanted and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Autumn did a colorful balayage on me and I am SO happy with it. I felt completely comfortable with her - wasn't worried at all that I wouldn't like the results. Tara and Autumn are both laid back and make a nice chill environment in the salon. I'll definitely be back again!

Tara is a color queen. She helped me get back to my natural color without damaging my hair. She is always on time, is super knowledgeable and helpful, and goes out of her way to make sure that not only am I comfortable with what we're doing, but that the services are the best fit. The salon is comfortable and inviting and and Tara will make you feel at home right away. I cannot recommend her and the entire TMAC crew enough. Fabulous!!

Wow!! I'm new to the area and took a chance on this salon, that advertises a higher than normal price for a men's cut, worth every penny!
Tara made it a point to cut my hair herself and made me feel very welcome for my first time. It is very difficult to find someone who can cut it right the very first time and she did! It's perfect. TMAC's just gained a new regular!

This weekend, I visited TMAC's Hair Studio on Old Government Street in Midtown. I enjoyed my time there and got a haircut, color and deep condition treatment.
My stylist was Bailey and she walked me through every step of the haircut and color to ensure that I was happy with what she was doing. We picked out my color together. Bailey educated me about the salon's OWay line of products which are imported from Italy. They smell great - even the coloring products!
At the end of the service, my color was perfect, the cut was awesome - and my hair was softer than it has ever been.

Disappointed to say the least. My stylist was late for my appointment - overslept apparently. She took 45 minutes to wash & dry my hair before starting the "up-do" - even though I didn't want a full up-do. I asked for a braid that pulled back into girls, and I ended up with two braids (one on each side, even though I only wanted one side braided) and into a low bun, not into curls hanging on my shoulder. Thank goodness I had enough time before the wedding to take my hair out and redo it myself. So I basically paid $108 for a braid.

I don't know how I have not already reviewed TMAC's! To start with the leader Tara is an amazingly talented stylist so much so that I walk in and tell her to do what she wants to do with my hair and I am ALWAYS happy and get lots of compliments on my hair. Tara knows hair and she spends a lot of her time and energy mentoring the stylist in her employ,something I admire and enjoy watching. In addition to the shear talent for hair and makeup she is a genuinely good person with a kind heart. If you are needing new hair,I highly recommend giving Tara and her staff a call,you will not be disappointed

I recently went here to get my roots highlighted to match the rest of my blonde hair. Jacob did a fantastic job blending my root color with the rest of my hair and making me look like a natural blonde. I have super thick and long wavy hair and I am very scared to try new hair stylists but I'm glad I did!!! Try him out, you won't be disappointed!

One of my girlfriends got her hair done here & it looked great so I tried it. The first time Tori was overbooked & she rushed through my haircut & instead of a bob I got some jagged edge mishap. She said I could comeback sometime & she'd fix it. She did apologize a lot, she seemed very frazzled at the time so I thought I would try again. I'd seen & heard such great things. The next appointment I set for a color & haircut, they booked me with the wrong girl and I'm telling you I was definitely specific when I set the appointment. I took off from work for this

After reading all the great Yelp and Google reviews for this place, I decided to check it out. They were able to schedule me an appointment for the day I called, and when I showed up a bit early, they got me right in.

If you are wondering about purchasing a Groupon to try this place as a new customer, DO IT. DON'T HESITATE.
I took my mother to TMAC to get a pixie cut. Kat did an amazing job with Tara, the owner, by her side. The great thing about this place is that the whole salon is a team. Tara took her time to make sure everything was done perfectly and gave advise to Kat the whole time.
I personally had a horrible experience at another salon few days before.
I can't wait to go to TMAC next to get a great haircut like my mother!

My first visit to TMAC was yesterday (06/06/2015) and was the best cosmetology experience I have had in Mobile. Since moving here just over two years ago to attend USA, I've struggled to find somewhere I feel comfortable, welcome and most importantly confident in the technician's skills. My search is over!
First, it was such last minute, I called the shop Saturday afternoon and a PLEASANT voice answered. I was surprised because I've found Mobile citizens have a little too much attitude and seem to resent customers. Not at this professional establishment!

I have been going to Tmac's for a few years now, and have always been more than satisfied with my service. My stylist is Angela, and she always does the most amazing hair cuts and color. The atmosphere is nice, no stuffiness like some other salons have. Everyone is very nice that works there. I love it. I never go anywhere else!
