By design, our business is a place where entrepreneurs and small business clients receive financial and operational counsel from CPAs who have worked in the trenches. Founded in 2002 by Kelly Davis, a successful CPA and former CFO, our firm was acquired in 2016 by Doug Freeman, who had worked as a CFO in both small and global businesses.
Doug spent the first 10 years of his career working in public accounting firms, both large and small. He left public accounting when he was offered the CFO position for a regional technology solution provider. The role allowed him to practice his passion - working with a small business to use finance and accounting to enable growth.
Because we are a small business ourselves, we understand how important it is to give our clients superior personalized service. We invest time in you and your small business, first by listening to your concerns and inquiring about your vision and then by developing a plan of action with you to achieve your goals.
Several of our clients are businesses whose prior accounting was non-existent or incorrect, which led to incorrect tax return filings. Without spending inordinate time in cleanup, Douglas L. Freeman, CPA, identified and fixed the issues, resulting in correct tax return filings and much cleaner financial statements going forward.
The goal at Douglas L. Freeman, CPA, LLC is to give our clients professional service they can rely on. After several years as an associate at a private dental practice, I decided to make the leap and purchase my own practice. The "to do" list was daunting.
