Master Bill Viola Sr. is the authority on Marital Arts in Westmoreland County with over 50 years experience (9th Degree Master Black Belt). Viola was inducted into USA Karate Hall of Fame and honored as the 2003 Man of the Year (Lifetime Achievement). He has had the unique opportunity to teach all of his five children martial arts, and instruct all of them to black belt!
Shihan (Master) Bill Viola Sr. Shihan is the authority on Martial Arts in the area with over 50 years experience and holding 9th degree black belt. He is credited by the Heinz History Center in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institution as the co-creator of Mixed Martial Arts "MMA" a decade before the UFC.
Norwin Ninjas teaches the exclusive award-winning Sensei Says Life Skills Curriculum. Norwin Ninjas is a specialized karate for kids course designed to build self-confidence, instill respect, and teach discipline through LIFE SKILLS. We also offer teen, family courses, self-defense workshops, through our parent program Allegheny Shotokan.

It is quite simple; there is no better Martial Arts School around! This school does not give belts out after a designated time frame. You must earn each and every belt, which takes a lot of training, discipline, and dedication. Allegheny Shotokan, led by the Viola’s, has produced numerous WORLD champions in Sports Martial Arts, along with many advanced black belts that are widely recognized throughout the world. Whether you are looking to learn traditional Shotokan karate, or want to give Sport Karate a try, this is the place to go. This school makes you feel like you are part of their family

This program is fantastic. The kids start to learn Japanese at a young age, they get to learn karate and they have a lot of fun too. I have been extremely happy with this program, school and the instructors. The whole thing is a first class organization. There is not a better choice in the North Huntingdon area!

My son (6) and daughter (9) having been going to norwin ninjas for 2+ years now. If you are looking for a sport to help with focus and confidence I would recommend karate.
While the facilities at norwin ninjas are not all that to look at the instruction is most definitely top notch. There is always someone willing help weather it is one of the many accomplished sensi or one of higher belt students. No matter your age or knowledge they have a program designed for you. Your kids will learn not only karate but respect, team work, and the sense of accomplishment achieved through hard work.

The best! My son has been going there for 7 years. Not only are the senseis amazing, but the students are encouraged to help in the community and be outstanding citizens in life. The curriculum at this school has helped my son gain confidence, be disciplined, and become a leader. He has made many lifelong friends there, too.
