Sierra Veterinary Hospital is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada's between Yosemite and Kings Canyon across from the Auberry post office. We serve the communities of Auberry, Prather, North Fork, Tollhouse, North East Clovis, Oakhurst, Shaver Lake, and Huntington Lake. Doctor Sallie and staff strive to provide the best possible medical, surgical, and dental care.

We treat every patient as our own pet and every owner as family. We all work our hardest to give the highest quality medical care with compassion and empathy. Our entire team is committed to you and your pet. Really appreciate the "culture" at your office. Dr. Phillips care and commitment comes through in each of the staff we have had the pleasure to work with.
Services
We offer a wide range of services to help care for your pets. Our clinic is equipped to handle everything from regular health checkups to emergency services including surgery. We use all state of the art equipment and the newest technological advances to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
From the very beginning, animals have been a part of my life. Since before I can remember, my mother said that 2 orange kitties slept in my crib and comforted me. On long trips when we drove for hours to my grandparents, I would be examining the lips, mouth and ears of our dear old patient Labrador retriever.
Firstly, our pets can't speak, they cannot tell us if they feel off colour or unwell or have any other indicators of internal illness. We need to examine them every 6 months as well as run some routine screening tests to detect underlying disease BEFORE it is clinically apparent. Use the age chart below to find your pets age in "people" years and the screening testing recommended for each stage of his or her life.
Many people have questions about various aspects of their pet's surgery, and we hope this information will help. It also explains the decisions you will need to make before your pet's upcoming surgery. Today's modern anesthetic monitors have made surgery much safer than in the past.

Here at Sierra Veterinary Hospital, we do a thorough physical exam on your pet before administering anesthetics, to ensure that a fever or other illness won't be a problem. We also adjust the amount and type of anesthetic used depending on the health of your pet. The handout on anesthesia explains this in greater detail.
Here are some questions/answers that we are frequently asked. If you have additional questions that aren't covered here, please feel free to give us a call at (559)855-3770. At what age can I have my pet spayed or neutered? Spaying or neutering can be done at approximately 6 months of age. Your pet is given an exam prior to surgery to help determine whether your pet is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure.
