At Mayflower Preschool children learn through play! Our mission is to create a warm environment that stimulates creativity and a positive self-image for each child. Our program has enough structure to provide security, but enough freedom so that the child can explore, develop, and grow emotionally, socially, physically, and intellectually.

In 1968, 10 years after Mayflower Congregational Church was founded, the new education wing of the church was dedicated. At this time the church decided to establish a preschool as a community outreach program. Preschool enrollment grew from 24 children in 1968 to over 200 in a short period of time.
The National Association for the Education of Young Children administers the nation's largest and most widely recognized voluntary accreditation system for high-quality early childhood programs. Its purpose is to improve the quality of care and education provided for young children and to recognize early childhood programs that function in accordance with the criteria for high-quality early childhood programs.
At Mayflower Preschool, we believe a strong partnership between teachers and parents, with consistent and open communication, is the key to your child's successful experience. We focus on getting to know your child individually to ensure we create both a nurturing and stimulating environment, allowing them to discover and grow at their own pace.
Our Three-Year-Old class provides a nurturing atmosphere in which children's introduction to the educational process is accepting, inviting, and encouraging.

Teachers assist students in experiencing a positive separation from home, providing opportunities to work with various media forms, developing listening skills, offering opportunities for large and small motor development, exposing students' to reading, writing, and math concepts, encouraging growth in social development, and promoting an awareness of health and safety. The students are introduced to Zoophonics, and Handwriting Without Tears.
Our Four-Year-Old class further develops all educational concepts introduced in our 3's program including math, science, and literature, as well as social, emotional, and physical growth. There are many opportunities for making choices, becoming independent thinkers, and developing confidence. Our students have weekly Zoophonics, and Handwriting Without Tears.
