Located in Chatham, NJ, we are a non-profit school for children ages 2 - Kindergarten. Now entering our thirty-first year, Gingham continues to serve our community by providing play-based learning combined with academics offered in a nurturing environment. We boast a fantastic Student-Teacher ratio, a Mother-Daughter Director team, and a centrally located, beautiful facility ideal for little learners in Chatham and surrounding towns.

The Gingham Giraffe Preschool opened its doors in 1990. Director Gail Smith, a Chatham native and local public school teacher for years, cultivated a progressive program based on the answers to the following questions: What is best for our children? How can we nurture and educate them in today's changing world?
The Gingham Giraffe Preschool provides play-based learning in a nurturing environment. Our flexible and comprehensive curriculum offers a truly enriched preschool experience through Academics and Electives. Snack and Curb Service included, with extended day options for every age. For children who have completed a four year old program but are not yet moving on to kindergarten.
If your child is turning 5 in late Spring, Summer, or even September, they are eligible for our Junior Kindergarten class! Children develop more confidence both academically and socially while building the skills they need to be successful in Kindergarten and beyond. Also known as a "Gift Of Time" program, Junior Kindergarten is a class designed specifically for older 4's.
After their morning class, students in the ACHIEVE program enjoy lunch with friends, additional instruction and activities with a different theme each day. Nifty Numbers is another option for Mondays. Craft projects and activities focused on number recognition, formation and the beginnings of cognitive math skills.
The Gingham Giraffe Preschool has been serving Chatham and surrounding communities for over 30 years by preparing little learners for Kindergarten and beyond. In addition to traditional Kindergarten academics of language arts, reading and math, students will be exposed to our Enrichment and Electives programs: Social Studies, Science, Creative Arts, STEM and Technology.
