Michele Smith is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Arizona, receiving her Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Arizona School of Acupuncture in 2010. After graduation, Michele began working at a local community acupuncture clinic in Tucson where she has administered thousands of treatments.
Acupuncture is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine through which very fine needles are placed along the meridians of the body to stimulate the body's natural healing. Over 3,000 years ago the Chinese realized that when energy (qi) and blood were no longer flowing properly through the channels of body disease would follow.

Great place, Michele is very charming. An institution like the Gathering Point is an important part of the community. Acupuncture is a technique empirically demonstrated by considerable scientific research to be effective in treating many conditions. Anyone doubting this should look at some scientific publications online. Many physicians recommended this modality of treatment for me, but I didn't live in a place with a community acupuncture establishment at the time. While on a brief sabbatical, I gifted myself 3 sessions of acupuncture and I couldn't be more delighted with The Gathering Point. Calm and serene, even while in a community setting, is an ideal format for this first time acupuncture client.

I just returned to Tucson and thought I would try a different community acupuncture place. I used the Groupon Deal for three visits. The first visit, Michelle was thorough and went over my issues. When I got in the treatment room, it was the typical community style, which doesn't bother me. What did bother me is the other patients talking to Michelle after their visit. Why would you talk to your clients when others are trying to rest?

Michelle is very kind, patient, understanding & thorough. I have been dealing with a myriad of issues & opted for a natural/holistic approach vs. modern medicine. It turned out to be a good decision! The benefits far outweigh the costly medical practices utilized in the U.S. today.
I highly recommend this facility if you are looking for a different/natural approach.

I had a really good experience here. I visited while in from out of town, Michelle was very gentle and a good listener. They had tables so you could get treatment on both your back (which I prefer) and your front, she also raked some oils into my skin when I was finished. Took away all of my back pain and made me leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and an amazing decrease in my anxiety which lasted days. Would definitely recommend.

Two simple things could have improved my experience:
1. A table with padding where it counts.
2. A check-in halfway through the treatment.
My experience with Michele was kind of tragically hilarious. I came in with a LOT going on and I don't live around Tucson so I was not expecting to get everything taken care of in one session. I talked rapidly with Michele about my chronic illnesses and the acute problems I came in for: recovery form a car accident, and intense joint and abdominal pain.
She nodded and asked just one or two questions and got me set up on a table. I wasn't exactly

I bought a groupon for The Gathering Point and was completely satisfied. Some of the needles cause fleeting pinch-like pain, but the pay off is worth it. My first visit, I left with less back pain from a recent car accident and non-existent anxiety. I had my second session today. When I walked in I was having pain in my side from a chronic illness. She put a needle right above it and the pain went from a stabbing pain to a weak, dull ache. Not only is it effective, but Michelle is quick, understanding and easy to talk to. She sees countless individuals and was still able to remember what my ailments

I would recommend The Gathering Point because of its super-low price point or central location even if the acupuncture was merely competent. But Michele is, in fact, a very thorough, kind and caring acupuncturist. Whatever issues I come in with (a lump I want removed with 'Surround the Dragon'), lower back pain, allergies, help with weight loss, she is immediately transfixed with resolving that problem - and her focus on patient issues continues to the next session. She is interested in seeing progress in her patients and remembers your issues. Amazing clinic!

Have been there twice and will try to go in at least once or twice a week. Michelle gets detailed as to where she is placing needles for what purposes, which I appreciate. She listens and is calming and encouraging, and seems to truly know acupuncture. I really enjoy being lulled into such a relaxed mode for a while in the middle of the day!
