The firm was founded by Mr. Richard Shroads, PE, PLS, in 1986 in Pasadena, California.

PFAS chemicals (or Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are being detected in water sources across the nation. The substances are man-made chemicals used in a variety of industries around the globe, including in the United States since the 1940s. They include the chemicals Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), GenX, and others - experts have most often dedicated studies to PFOA and PFOS.
