Services
Simple ingredients are fresh picked daily from our two acre culinary garden, prepared by our culinary team and combined with tasty salads and proteins. We proudly source only humanely raised meats and sustainable harvested seafood. We love cooking with vegetables and you'll be wonderfully nourished by our garden driven menu.
We pride ourselves on diversification and want to introduce you to our roots. These are testing times and if a model like ours survives and even thrives then it has to be good for the whole. Outer Aisle started as a concept to retain our customers during a crisis where we lost our farm to a water rights issue.
We invite you to experience the full immersion of Sierra with it's friendly rural vibe, historic feel, world class wines, and wild landscapes. Nestled in the heart of the gold country, our farm holds sacred the pulse of humanity. Keeping alive the art of farming and in growing the heirlooms of our ancestors we bring the true pleasure of celebration to a whole new level.
Outer Aisle owners, Eric and Christine Taylor, farmers and chefs, have been pioneers of the local food movement since 1993. Their kitchen garden, located in Douglas Flat just a mile from the Outer Aisle venue, is the inspiration for their culinary passion. Christine hails from New Zealand, where her Lebanese ancestral roots were celebrated with traditional foods and social gatherings.
Foodie Friday's is our twice a month chance to wow you with our own unique creations. We take inspiration from the seasons and cultivate a menu that reflects who we are, who we all are and what is possible! How about that! Ever since we've owned the building it's been apparent that cooking is more than just serving food; it's an art form and we are here to express that.

Even with a limited menu, the every-other-Thursday dinner is worth it. Fresh from the farm down the road and executed with Eric's creativity, the food is remarkable. There's always a choice of meat/fish/poultry if you are so inclined to add that to your vegetables . Plus dessert! And then buy your own veggies to take home. Yum!

The first time I ate here, the snapper was so outstanding that this became my new favorite restaurant in Murphys. But two subsequent visits were less impressive and got mediocre reviews from my companions. I generally do better than that at home, so three stars.
Another thing, on Thursdays they have live music. You've been warned.

The food was terrible, no flavor to anything! Poor selection in the menu, some of which was misleading. The waitress was friendly though, but that was the nicest thing about this place. We eat at a variety of different places, and have had many different experiences, and I can honestly say this was the worst food we have ever had.
