Loosely translated, Budokai means "the way of the warrior" and encompasses more than just fighting and fitness. It is a way of living life. Budokai literally translates into "the place of the way of the warrior" and is the foremost in martial arts and fitness in North Kingstown and its neighboring communities.

We work toward the betterment of the entire person - physically, mentally, and emotionally - by honing and accentuating the strengths of each individual through diligent training and compassionate instruction. Most of all, we promote dignity and virtue, by never compromising the integrity of our arts and demanding our students strive to be better each day than they were the day before.
Services
Budokai Martial Arts began in 2011 as Narragansett Bay Budokai. After nine successful years as North Kingstown's premiere martial arts school, we were ready to move to a bigger location and rebrand as Budokai Martial Arts. Our curriculum and approach are designed to work with people of all levels of skill and fitness to bring out the very best in every individual.
Learn traditional Okinawan Matsubayashi Ryu Karate-Do and its practical applications. Children will develop basics in martial arts and fitness while also developing socialization skills and learning important life lessons. Training in our Budokai Karate-Do program gives you access to traditional kata and weapons training, as well as stirking and movement training, self-defense, kata application (bunkai), and sparring skills training.
FUNdamentals is our satellite program which runs in 8 week sessions and introduces children to the basics of karate without asking too much of them. Along with learning fundamental moves and philosophy, this program incorporates games and fun drills which consist of using basic karate moves as training tools.
Budokai Kickboxing is a program unique to Budokai Martial Arts. All fitness levels are welcome and every class is a little different than the last. The curriculum is designed to be suitable for everyone from beginners to advanced kickboxers looking to engage in an effective fitness program with no interest in combat.
Burn calories and shred fat! Develop cardiovascular and pulmonary endurance with our cardio and HIIT classes. Members of our MMA, Kickboxing, and Fitness programs have access to our cardio classes. Build strength and tone muscle as well as developing muscular endurance through our Strength and Conditioning program.
