Strange location tucked behind the 32nd Street Exchange, Commissary, and other Navy facilities. However, the rooms are clean and the facility is recently updated. Staff is friendly and the morning breakfast is pretty decent too. Biggest issue is the noise from the shipyard all night, but the price and location near everything can't be beat.

Enjoyed our stay at this busy Navy Lodge. There is an amazing and helpful team of personnel providing great customer service. The price is fair for the location.
Conveniently situated within walking distance of the NEX, Commissary, Navy Federal Cerdit Union, and the MTS trolley which connects to downtown San Diego. The rooms are well appointed with a small fully equipped kitchenette, bathroom with tub and closet with clothes hanging racks. All necessities are provided and catered for. Breakfast is basic, yet caters for all tastes.
Safety is maintained by mandatory masking policy in common areas

So this is the SAN DIEGO location. NOT the North Island/Coronado location that is on the beach. A lot of people seem to confuse this. This location is next to shipyards and on the same base the commissary is located on.
Okay. So first I’ll say this, if you are a light sleeper then you probably won’t get a good nights sleep here unless you take a horse tranquilizer and chase it with some NyQuil. My room was located right across from the housekeeping room and the employees are constantly going in and out and slamming the door every time. Not only was it loud, I could feel the entire room shake
