Animal Hospital of Western Springs is a new state-of-the-art facility located near the corner of 55th Street and Wolf Road in beautiful Western Springs. Dr. Perez and his staff members have over twenty-four years of practicing the art of veterinary medicine.

Owner and accomplished veterinarian Dr. Ernesto Perez is one of Animal Hospital of Western Springs' greatest assets. Dr. Perez provides a wealth of experience and expertise in veterinary medicine and care that enables his staff to grow individually and uphold our high standards of exceptional veterinary services.
Alejandro works full-time at Animal Hospital of Western Springs as a Veterinary Technician. Alejandro has completed an associate's degree in applied sciences and an Illinois state certification as a veterinary technician. Some of his responsibilities include physical pet exams, lab work, dental cleanings, administering vaccines and medications, and assisting in surgical procedures.
Our practice focuses on preventative health care. We always recommend annual vaccinations customized to your pet's exposure risk-factors. We also recommend annual blood testing for heartworm disease and screenings for our "early disease detection base-line values."
This is why we ask our patients and their owners visit us every six months for pets that are seven and younger and visits every three months for pets that have a chronic medical condition.We also provide Glaucoma testing. We strongly recommend routine deworming for puppies and kittens and core vaccinations.

My experience here was very stressful. I had a senior dog of 16 years that I wished to have groomed because of her age the vet suggested to put her under anesthesia and she might not survive. 500.00 was the amount the veterinarian wanted to charge. Unfortunately I didn't have that much as I sat there with my heart in my arms crying the last thing he said to me was, how do you wish to pay. I walked backed to my car with my dog( she was family) she passed away that evening and with money I had for the grooming I had her cremated. I'll forever miss her.

First visit. Arrived 10mins before my appointment, waited 50mins after my appointment time, outside in my car, since they don’t allow pets inside until they are ready for you. That’s a long time in the heat with your dog. They charged me for first time visit which I was told was free when I made my appointment. I didn’t notice until I got home that I was charged so I called back and was told you should have told us we can’t do anything now. Yet their website states all first visits are free no need to bring or say anything. They could of said sorry we will refund you or give you a future

By far Dr Perez is the best. Had an issue with my dog that was not found by the other vet I went to that couldn't find a problem with my dog. Within minutes of me talking her there he knew exactly what my sissy had with all the issues I explained to other vet and they said it was doggy dementia. Needless to say it was bad news he had but if I would of taken her prior she would of had a fighting chance. Now all my dogs go to see Dr Perez.

Wonderful doctors and a wonderful staff. When our cat became sick, the doctor thoroughly explained our options and when it came time to put her down, they were kind and compassionate. The doctor and staff came to our home, did not rush and were very professional. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My 14 year old kitty, Cinders, had a seizure this morning. Dr. Ernie and his staff were so patient and compassionate with my little scaredy-cat. He explained the entire physical examination, radiology films and each laboratory value! He’s even available if I have questions later. We are just going to monitor her for now. I highly recommend them!

I brought my dog to this hospital for a second opinion. Dr. Perez did a rectal exam and gave me probiotics and antibiotics just in case. I paid a lot of money for medicine that was useless. When I came back for a follow up visit, I told Dr. Perez that the medicine did not work and my dog still had the same problem. He was confused and told me that… I shouldn't worry about it because my dog looked healthy. A week later, I take my dog to another animal hospital and vet does a rectal exam and finds a mass. He does a colonoscopy and removes mass. The problem stops and my dog goes back to being

I just wanted to take a minute and write about the unbelievably compassionate and loving care we received from Western Springs Animal Practice. After a couple days of not eating, we decided to bring in our sweet and lovable puppy, Beatrice, to Western Springs Animal Practice.
