Our orthodontists specialize in correcting dental issues which are unique to children and adults. Clear braces function exactly the same way as metal braces do except they blend in visually to your teeth as the brackets are tooth-colored or clear. These are your traditional braces, composed of metal brackets that are attached to every tooth and metal arch wires that are threaded through each bracket.
At Surfside the needs of your child are being met on an individual basis, in a fun and kid-friendly environment with movies, games, and smiling staff. We are committed to creating an enjoyable experience at each visit by ensuring you and your child are comfortable and informed every step of the way.
We recommend bringing your child in by age 1 or within 6 months of the eruption of their first tooth. If possible schedule the most convenient time that will allow for your child to be alert and fresh. Before your scheduled visit, we encourage you to create a dialog around the topic of brushing, meeting their dentist and Surfside's fun atmosphere of ocean, games and sea creatures.
We accept most major PPO dental insurance plans. If you do not see your plan listed below or have any questions about coverage, please give us a call and we would be happy to see if you are covered. Following your consultation, our treatment coordinator will tailor and discuss a cost estimate for your unique treatment plan including your estimated insurance credit and curate a financial plan to fit your needs.

First let me say that I am a dentist. When I realized my 8 year old daughter needed a filling I knew that there was no way on this green earth that I would be the one to do it. My kids have been going here for a couple years now and the staff have always treated my children with such care and kindness. Yesterday My 3 year old had a dental emergency and from the moment I called to tell them what was going on they jumped into action to take care of us. When we got there they swooped her right back and got to work. They… went above and beyond to help me feel at ease and even went as far as helping keep my other daughter whos 4 entertained outside of the room so that I could stay with my 3 year old while they worked. 5 stars isn't even enough they deserve 10. Highly recommend Dr. Plewe and his skilled and professional team for ortho treatment. They put a smile on my teen’s face and make visits safe and easy. Text reminders help us stay on track and never miss… appointments. Dr. Plewe is patient and personable and responded to my questions and treatment concerns without making me feel like I didn’t know what I clearly didn’t know. The staff at Surfside Dental is extremely professional. You feel welcomed since the moment you walk through the door. They have great safety protocols in place to prevent the spread if COVID. Very little wait time (if any). They offer treatment to people of all ages.
I would liked to add that Daisy and Dr. Ryan were very helpful and answered all of my questions about braces/Invisalign. They helped me finalize my decision on my upcoming orthodontic treatment. Thank you!

We have been coming here to SURFSIDE for a few years now. Both my girls were seeing another pediatric dentist and their bad experiences with that one after a few years led me to find SURFSIDE. I'm so thankful… for them. They put my girls needs and anxieties first and gave them the security they needed to have all the work done. All the staff from front to back are amazing! I actually feel like family here. They make my girls feel very comfortable and explain everything before they start. Dr. Plewe is our Orthodontist. He's just wonderful. Virginia is usually our RDA and does a great job

Bring your child(ren) here!!! I brought my 4 daughters here for a routine cleaning. I loved everything about the experience from when I called to make the appointment all the way down to when my daughters got their teeth cleaned. As a mother of 4, it's a challenge to find a place that will take all of my children on the same day around the same time. My wife brought our 1.5 year old for a check up. This was his second visit. This office really goes above and beyond when trying to make a child feel welcomed. The office is decorated with kids in mind.
The staff was great and super friendly. The dentist walked around the office with my little one showing him all kinds of things to make him calm and comfortable. The staff even got him a little car. They did recommend bringing our little one by every other week just so he gets used to the office and doesn't have a cry-fest next time.

So almost 2 years to the date and we're STILL raving about Surfside.
My step daughter tells everyone about her awesome dentist and she's 11. What kid does that still?
The reason I'm updating my review is I've now had my own precious daughter and she's just had her first dental appointment as of yesterday. My little one is 10 months and they were amazing!
She's got 8 teeth already so we wanted her to start getting comfortable with the dentist and getting her teeth looked at. Surfside didn't disappoint! The staff was amazing per usual. She's been watching

I made an appointment for both kids about 3 weeks in advance to the appointment. I had to take the day off work in order to take them to this appointment. I had all of their Xrays sent to them. I confirmed the dental insurance with their front office two different times before the appointment. I wont even go into the phone calls regarding this. Lets just say I really don't like repeating myself.
So, to the appointment

We highly recommend Surfside Kids Dental-Pleasant Hill. We were referred to Surfside by our general dentist, due to my two younger son's ages. Over the past two years, my 9-year-old & 12-year-old have had cleanings, x-rays, treatment and other preventative care treatments. All our experiences have been positive. From my boy's perspective, the jungle theme atmosphere makes going to the dentist fun, they look forward to visiting Dr. J and her staff.

My first visit to this dentist was today with my two sons that are ages 2 & 3. The staff was super nice and welcoming. After doing a quick search of a kid friendly dentist I decided on this place and we all were very happy with the experience.
My kids saw all the toys and didn't realize they were at the dentist. My 3 year old did X-rays, an examination, and let the dentist put fluoride on his teeth. I thought we would all be in for a fight but he did it alone! The staff here are the best. I would highly recommend...we will be back for future visits!

I think this is a great place for taking your kids for their dental visit in terms of location, parking, and the overall bright and cheerful enviorment which was its biggest draw for us when we recently moved to Concord. However their very strict 25 dollar cancellation policy is too rigid for my BUSY, PARENT life, and I get it, they need advance notice, but if I call literally 23 hours ahead or so and call the day before the appointment, its pretty petty that they still think to charge this fee. There were several errors made on their end also that could have avoided the whole situation, like

I brought my son here today for his first dental apt and the lady working the front desk said she had issues with insurance and tried to contact me. I spoke with her on the Friday before and she mentioned nothing about having difficulties with insurance, in fact she was confused about apt dates - she said she had written Sept 1 down and I told her maybe that was when you needed to run the insurance through? We are a family of 4 who usually goes to one family dentist every 6 months for routine dental care. If you are looking for a dentist for your toddler / child, there is NO BETTER place! Amazing! Everything from check-in, to the Dental assistant (Julie) to Dr. Vivian. I went with my 4 year old and 2 year old (who I was certain wouldn't even open her mouth) and Dr. Vivian did miracles.
Yes the place is a little playground heaven for kids.
Yes kids want to actually RETURN to the dentist in 6 months!
