Growing up in Greensboro, my dad's office was located on State St. and I have many fond memories of visiting the locally owned shops. Throughout high school and college I developed an interest in the jewelry business. The former proprietor and jeweler, Mark Holder, was quick to share his immense knowledge of the jewelry world and repair prowess.
Whether it's a treasured family heirloom or a piece you wear everyday, your jewelry deserves proper care and maintenance by a qualified bench jeweler. We have the latest technology available for everything from prong retipping and ring sizing to complete restoration and rebuilding. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your jewelry purchase, exchange your purchase in original condition and with all original documents within 30 days OR return for full store credit. I can’t recommend State St. Jewelers highly enough. My mother passed away and I wanted to put her diamond from her wedding set into a setting wedding set for myself. Not a large stone but extremely sentimental. Jane was so kind and helpful in picking out just the right setting to showcase something that was very important to me. June at State Street Jewelers helped me to choose a setting for an black opal that I provided. I could see the stone as we laid it upon several choices and then we customized the final choice. A drawing and a computer generated 3D image were made so I could see it before the jeweler made it. It is beautifully done.

A Happy Costumer! Two of my rings needed repair. I was told about another jeweler and mistaken this place as the one but I was wrong and they made me feel very welcomed. A beautiful place, super spotless and bright. Cleaned both of my rings and repaired one that had a lost stone. I’m happy to have my jewelry fixed. They did an excellent job in a short length of time. Super friendly staff.

I first used St Street about a year ago to resize a ring, which promptly lost a diamond. I was frustrated by this, but regardless my girlfriend still wanted to check it out as we are trying to design a ring. The woman helping us was very quick to say "you don't want that" when we asked about less popular cuts of diamonds. She was quite rude about our standards, our past experiences there, and laughed at us when we asked questions. I will not be returning to this store again.

I recently got engaged and I told my fiance the wrong size (I thought I was a six, but I'm about a four), so the ring had to go down quite a bit in size. I left it in the capable hands of the jewelers at State Street, and I am absolutely blown away by the experience. I got my ring back today after a very short turnaround time, and it fits perfectly, as if it was made just for me. The band has no signs of it having been resized-it looks flawless. We have used State Street Jewelers for gifts and they always have beautiful pieces at a lot of price points, but we recently chose to take some special rings for resizing. Jane and the staff at State Street Jewelers are wonderful! They did a great job with the resizing and had it ready in less than 24 hours.
