Since 1987, Dr. John H. Shelton has provided quality dental services designed to improve the look, function, and health of patients' smile. We welcome patients from the greater Metropolis area, including Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky, to become a part of our family. Our office is located on the corner of Market and West 11th Street, one block north of Walgreens at the four-way light.
We work with a wide variety of patients, from children as young as two to seniors. During your first appointment, we address your individual concerns before proceeding with a full examination with x-rays. We let the patient dictate their care. Dr. Shelton and his team get to know each patient as an individual while working toward a solution to any outstanding issues, keeping in mind their unique concerns.

Intraoral cameras are changing the face of routine dental appointments. The intraoral camera gives the patient a unique view of each tooth - enabling them to understand diagnoses and make informed treatment decisions. The intraoral camera is connected to a computing unit at the side of the dental chair.

If you want a kind, caring, genuine staff and doctor this is the place to go. I have had some horrible experiences with dentist to the point I avoided them worse than any other doctor around. Dr. Shelton is a very nice guy. If your not numb he wont do nothing until you are. If you say OUCH that hurts he stops immediately. I've been going to his office for a year now. His staff are friendly, nice and care. If your looking for a great dentist I highly recommend Dr. Shelton.

Thank God for Dr. Shelton and staff. I had an emergency yesterday and could not get in touch with any dentist in the area not even my regular one. I called and was seen the same day and the experience was amazing. The office is very clean and everyone is so professional. Dr. Shelton knows his stuff! Thanks!!!

Team members are extremely genuine, polite, and willing to answer any questions. I especially appreciated the personalized treatment and the office manager’s caring and honest personality. My 87 year old grandmother had some major treatment done here and I was very happy with how well they treated her :)
