Our dedicated team proudly offers a wide range of treatments designed to reduce and eliminate pain and soreness and help you return to your normal routine.
Daniel earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University in 2020. Jim really takes the time to listen and fully understand your symptoms before he creates a plan for treatment. I was very surprised by my constant progress and pain elimination. He sent me home with info on the stretches so I could continue treatment at home.
Jim and Melissa Owens and Staff are top notch. They are friendly, helpful, professional and quite effective in addressing my problem. I am very pleased with their professional abilities and would gladly recommend them to anyone. At Owens Physical Therapy Specialists, our expert team has over 66 years of experience to bring you the best possible care plan.
Patient care and transparency rank high on our priority list. The more our patients know about their ailment, injury and the process to eliminate it, the more we can help you get there. Listed below are answers to many of the most frequently asked questions we've received over the years. No. Michigan law no longer requires a signed prescription from your doctor in order to get physical therapy.
Physical Therapy offers individuals of all ages a proven, long-term and drug-free alternative to reduce and eliminate suffering from chronic pain, injuries and reduced mobility. Unfortunately, myths about physical therapy still exist, and many primary care physicians fail to properly educate their patients about this effective treatment.

The entire staff is very professional and extremely helpful. Honestly I probably can't say enough nice things about them. Their knowledge of my situation and how to help me reach my desired goals in a specific time frame was amazing. I would recommend them to anyone and in the future would happily work with them if I ever needed. From the front desk to the gym area, you guys all go above and beyond to make someone feel understood and confident with the care given.. Thank You again to the entire staff at Owens!

This is the fourth time I’ve had postoperative physiotherapy here in the last 7 years. Rotator cuffs and meniscus tears. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Jim, Melissa, and Daniel give excellent tailored treatment on an individual basis. Every patient gets personal undivided attention, with very solicitous care as to progress. These guys listen closely to every patient and are really engaged in healing them. Regaining mobility and strength carefully and efficiently is what I have experienced consistently every time from these very professional physiotherapists. This is the only place to go. I have

I was in an accident in January when a man ran a stop sign at 50 mph and hit my semi trailer and jackknifed my rig off the road into a ditch. I had whiplash in my neck and back, very painful. My neighbor recommend Owens to me from his experience, I had tried therapy other places before without much success. So I called and got in right away. Right from the start I got relief and was able to get off the pain pills and muscle relaxers within 2 weeks. It took time coming once or twice a week but I did fully recover. Since I was 74 years old several people, my doctor included, said I would probably

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Owens Physical Therapy. I have been to other physical therapists for a back/disc issue and no one compares to the care, knowledge, professionalism, and compassion of Jim and his team. They are positive, encouraging, and continue to make me stronger. No one compares to them in the Grand Rapids area. Thank you for healing me physically and emotionally and getting me back to my family, my sports, and my overall well-being!

I can't say enough good things about Owens' PT and their stellar team. I'm a 51 yo old man w/ recurring feet and ankle issues. I went in with both of my feet 'injured' and unable to walk a full stride without severe pain. I used to be very athletic until a few years ago when I began to suffer from debilitating plantar fasciitis along with other foot ailments, on both feet. After a particularly severe flare-up, from not being 18 anymore but skateboarding like I am, I finally decided to seek professional help. Keep in mind, like many people, I've watched countless youtube videos in an attempt to

In one session, James Owen did more to rehabilitate my husband's knee after knee surgery than other therapists accomplished in 5 months. After one therapist said my husband's knee wouldn't respond to more therapy, we nearly lost hope that he would ever be able to resume normal activities. James took a different approach, correctly identifying the issue as muscular. He uses equipment just as a warm-up, then he is completely hands-on to resolve the issues. The progress, although a lost of time has passed since his surgery, has been unbelievable. We are gladly making a three-hour round trip to Owens
