IPC accepts all major health insurance plans (BCBS, Health Partners, Medica, United Healthcare, Aetna, Preferred One, Cigna, Tricare, MN Medicaid (Medical Assistance), and Medicare) and many smaller health plans from around the country. At Innovative Psychological Consultants (IPC) our psychologists and therapists are licensed and trained independent contractors. Each clinician is brought on for the specialized skills and expertise that they possess. At IPC we have a clinician that is capable of treating nearly every issue. The job of navigating childhood and its many developmental challenges can be quite stressful at times. Children and adolescents are no less susceptible to mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, and ADHD. Anger is an automatic reaction to a perception of injustice and is designed to energize people to take action and correct the wrong. For instance, if your neighbor stole your car stereo, you would become angry and the anger would cause you to want to confront your neighbor and seek justice. Most people are somewhat passive to mildly assertive and anger pushes them up the spectrum to become more assertive in handling problems.

They were nice and easy to work with. Got some testing done and it seemed to be testing for children. As a 31 year old it felt weird. Instead of looking at symptoms and history the emphasis was put on the testing, whereas certain conditions range wildly from childhood to adulthood, different in men and women, and different among each individual. Makes me wonder why I was able to find a next day appointment when every other psych place was booked for months out.

After waiting for over two months for a psychiatrist appointment, I find out the day of, that my appointment was canceled… two weeks prior, because I was sick and had to cancel a therapy appointment. I have been dealing with some severe mental health issues and have been desperate for this appointment. The receptionist was blunt and rude. I don’t believe the employees of IPC are all in it for the mental health issues they advertise they are, it feels as though it’s a bit of a meat market and that there is so many patients, they generalize “us” as one big anxiety whole. I do not recommend this place. They sent my appointment confirmation email to the wrong person, who in turn canceled my appointment. I ended up taking the day off work and driving an hour for no reason, it was really disappointing and frustrating. The receptionist did try to make it right though by rescheduling quickly, but when I did get to have my appointment, the doctor was SO RUDE. I told her what was going on and her response was “What do you want me to do about it?” I was visibly upset but it didn’t seem to bother her one bit. Do not consider this place for help, it's a waste of time. If I could give it negative stars I would. The front reception staff is unprofessional and rude. The therapist/psychiatrist I saw told me to research my own alternative therapy options (options besides pills), for him being older I would have thought he would have some experience and knowledge. Nope... The appointment only lasted 20 minutes and half of the time he was using Google search.

These people are the worst. Only in it for the money, not helping their patients. They bill you even when you cancel. They are unsympathetic, non-understanding practice. I have seen other psychologists who waive the visits or just charge you $50-they charge full rates. I emailed and left voice messages for cancelling appointments and that did not matter, even when I cancelled on a Friday for a Monday appointment I got charged. This is so unfair. Do not go here.
